Cheltenham Totals

  • Who’s made the most? Or who’s made a big cock up? Anyways we all love to gawp at the free money so comment your total for day 1.

I’m a £100 up after doing the skybet offer, £30 in FBs from WH, the betfair offer twice, and but I only hit 2 2nd place refunds.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

actually, it was at betfair of all places, and the place lay was an arb too 😉

Isn’t laying it on betfair risky?

Is there a way to lay on smarkets using their top 3 market? Cheers guys.

yes that’s the point, smarkets pay out on top 4 places, bookies pay out on top 5 so seeing as you are laying at the exchange you are betting it does finish top 4 and with bookies you are betting it will finish top 5. Fifth place = both pay out.
i backed at betfair and laid at smarkets.
Remember these extra places are not really a bonus offer, so you can do them when you are gubbed.

Watching on in envy. On nights this week so have missed out on most of the fun. However with the footie as well as a few Cheltenham offers by the end of tonight it’ll be about £240 so far this week. Would’ve been more but when I woke up today I saw my 1.30pm Sky horse had been a non runner, so missed out there!
Well done to everyone though, some superb totals!

Dockie if youd read the other thread others had the same problem but sky let you pick another horse…so you definitely do miss out!

Around £700. Unbelievably lucky today… One 5th place, 188 £100 refund, multi- accounts across sky, WH and betfair triggering refunds. £100 6/4 boost I took on Thistlecrack from betfred I forgot to lay and 1-1 correct score for Man U v Liverpool plus the usual offers. Granted, multiple accounts and the fact I was off Uni helped alot.

It’s been a great 3 days for me, very much just pure luck but I’ve hit £1087 with £110 in free bets still to use and a day to go!

Really it should be about £487 but the shambles that was the 12bet and Fun88 sites yesterday gave me a huge bonus of £600 as they took double bets, that I obviously only laid once and only intended to bet once, on a 12.00 winner on both sites. Massive thanks again to BillySwill for the advice they were accepting long odds bets while refusing short odds.

Also quite a bit of underlaying and a few punts on free bets. Annie Power being a notable punt.

Cheers for all the tips and advice you guys help out with. Great site and community here very much appreciated, good luck tomorrow everyone!

Not trying to be disrespectful or anything, but it’s important that you start to have a higher extraction rate. In the long run, it makes such a big difference! This week alone, if you’d achieved 90%, you would have £130 more… I know it’s easy to say “Oh, I’ve made so much that it doesn’t matter”, however you can increase your return in quite an easy way (money on the table etc.). Anyway, well done!

This is definitely something I need to work on too. I’m extremely happy with my profit for the week so far – about £580 but I think I could have been more if I got more extraction out of the free bets. Is that where the premium version of odds monkey or something similar really helps or are you waiting for when certain bookies realise price boosts – say 10 am etc? I seem to be spending ages trying to find close odds and feel like I might me missing something. Plus this week, with not having a massive float, I’ve been trying to extract the free bets asap to use again the next day as I keep on also wining at the bookies!

Yes, you should consider acquiring the premium version of an odds comparison site like Odds Monkey. As has been mentioned many times before, it will pay for itself after a couple of free bets. If you wait until after noon there are numerous chances to achieve 100% extraction (with a limited float, you will certainly get 90%+).

My first time matched betting on Cheltenham after starting a few months ago. Made around £200 in total, which was my target at beginning of week. A few errors along the way, forgetting to lay 1 or 2 bets, stopped me making more. Lessons learnt and looking forward to getting back on the footy accas and maybe a horse or two now also!
