Cheltenham Totals

  • Who’s made the most? Or who’s made a big cock up? Anyways we all love to gawp at the free money so comment your total for day 1.

I’m a £100 up after doing the skybet offer, £30 in FBs from WH, the betfair offer twice, and but I only hit 2 2nd place refunds.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Mark, what odds do you typically have to use to get those extraction rates? I’ve often accepted way below 90% which is obviously a waste as you point out.

I always looked at the really high rates on oddsmonkey basic and they tended to be really high odds or a few days away. With a limited budget I felt this tied up too much flost and I’d be better off getting more done quickly and accept lower extraction rates.

Think I’ll have try oddsmonkey premium. If I have any accounts left after this week!

I agree with Mark don’t accept nothing less than high returns from your free bets. However, I don’t use odds monkey, just a simple look at horse racing for example I can see multiple horses on the 1:30 race odds of 17/17.5 23/24 all return pretty much 90%. It really doesn’t actually take that long as long if you are looking at the right place, usually horses is the easiest option. Although Sky price boosts on football usually always can provide 90% also.

Cheers Ryan I can see that it makes perfect sense to go for those odds and high extractions. I’ve spotted odds like you suggest plenty of times but I just didn’t have the float to cover those for £25 free bets. I have taken advantage of them for £5 – £10 free bets. Barring any huge disaster today I will have a much bigger float in my exchanges after a very lucky week.

As with many things in life it seems the more money you have the more you can make.

Thanks for the advice, this is all really helpful. I guess as I get more experienced, I will get quicker at finding the close matches. I was very proud of myself when I spotted 11/11 on Barca to bet Arsenal 3-1 to use my free sky bet – until it actually bloody won and halved my exchange float! As above, the bigger float will definitely help me in the future.

Well folks, what a ride this festival has been. Definitely need a few days off from betting to recover a little bit.

The total profit for me for the four days is around the £1k mark. This was helped hugely today by mugging the £25 opener with Sky at 7.50 which brought in £162.50 profit, and then the huge undelay on On The Fringe which netted over £160 after a slight hedge before the off.

My total was also boosted by the fact I underlayed all the price enhancements, and most of the short priced favs won!

I still have a few free bets to come, too!

Hope everyone had a fun and profitable festival. Looking forward to the next one!

Cheers Starlord its been great, rather annoyed I didn’t keep a note on my spreadsheet at my current profit before the week but i’m pretty sure I did hit 4 figures. Time to relax!

Ach, I’m happy with my £250 I’d have been happier if I’d not made a mess of today’s opener.

Not done all the math, but I’m between 400-500 profit, which I’m delighted with. Will never get to the levels some of you pro’s are as i don’t have the float, but its been thoroughly enjoyable.

Have to say a massive thanks to the community on here. As Starboard said, a great source of information and a fantastic help. Special mention to RyanB and Chris who always seem to be on the money with tips etc.

Couldn’t really keep up with everything and today I was unable to bet anything, but I’d estimate around £300. Doesn’t help that the £75 freebets from Betfair day 1 (using Matts guaranteed method) expired with 2 days, so didn’t use them as assumed they were at least fill day 4 and lost £70 on that…

£660 profit for me which includes other things I’ve done since Monday night when I last tallied up. I’m delighted with it considering I don’t have laddies or WH. Again as others have said a big thank you to everyone who posts offers. My prob now is ill be bankrupt if I don’t withdraw from some accounts so I’ll prob end up with a few gubbings by Monday.

Well done Pickle on your total even without Ladbrokes and Will Hill.

I am down Sky, Paddy and Ladbrokes and also managed a healthy profit.

Goes to show you, don’t get hung up on the gubbings – there are 100’s of bookies and offers out there, a gubbing is usually just the push you need to go out and find a better bookie.

Made about 100 pounds on a limited roll, probably should have underlayed more of my bets but something to consider for next time. Thanks to everyone for all the posts and congrats on your wins
