Lay odds for Bournemouth are horrendous right now – 4.5 on Paddy, 5.6 lay elsewhere. Anyone think these will get closer as kickoff nears? Football odds never seem to fluctuate too much on the exchanges.

5.00 and 5.70 now, still a loss of £3.99 on £25, can’t see odds getting much closer. United hopefully winning at half time, then the mancs can lose or draw in the 2nd half as I can’t stand Jose Maureen!

@Fog_Blog Ended up going for the 2nd option.. :

Backed £25 at Paddy at 1.8
Layed £25.42 at Smarkets at 1.79
    QL = 0.08

Then for the half time bet I did :

    £3.13 @ 6.4 = Liability of £16.93.

    Therefore:
Man Utd winning at HT : £20 win at bookies, less £20.08 at smarkets, + 3.07 for HT bet.
Bournemouth at HT: £25 lost at bookies, £24.92 won at smarkets, – £16.93 on smarkets + £25 free bet (20£ extraction)
Draw HT: £25 lost at bookies, £24.92 won at smarkets + 3.07 for HT bet.

£2.99 whatever the outcome. Obviously not great but I went past 2 bookies on the way to the gym and so it was no hassle popping in and placing the bets.

If there are more profitable games, then I could feasibly go to more.

Clearly not as good as their usual bet £20 and get a free £10 in play bet so we would make ~£7 usually.

But I like the idea that this can all be sorted out before the game and we don’t have to be at our pc’s doing the in-play bet for each game.

This offer is a clear example of the bookies adapting to try and make life harder for the match bettor.

Good job we all like a challenge 🙂

For me this is possibly the BEST MB offer ever. Just made 250 there today and 100 yesterday.

Firstly, this offer can be done very early, starting putting my first bets on Tuesday / Wednesday for this. We were laying Bournemouth for 5/4.8 yesterday lads. So just get in earlier.

Secondly, the multiple shops means we can go to town on it, I never actually done this online or mobile, why bother risking the account.
Cheers lads, on the Heineken now for the day lol

Haha well done dan87…..just the 1 for me there are only 2 paddies in town here and one is miles away

STC i’d say its madness that you would guarantee 2.99 from 2 of these bets….when if you had just bet on bournemouth for a couple of quid QL on each bet you could have had at least 10/1 on man utd winning at HT (which was 2.44 on smarkets). 2.99 up today from 2 bets and i’m 20 up from 1 so could have been 40 from 2, and that outcome was barely above a 50/50 chance

FACTUALLY to everyone else…an example of bad betting see above

matchedem. It’s not fair to make the comparison that you have there.

You got lucky, had it been level at half time you would have been DOWN. What was your long term expectation?

STC wasn’t playing with luck, it was 2.99 guaranteed win lose draw, up at HT or down at HT. The odds weren’t tight on the underdog so he went for the very minimal QL on Utd. Nothing really wrong with that.

Agree that with the odds it was possible to guarantee a slightly bigger profit on backing bournemouth but its the difference of guaranteeing €2.99 or €4.67 provided you are being genuine about being able to lay utd for 2.44, (when I looked much earlier this morning though it was 2.56). Not even a couple of euro.

So yes generally, this offer is best to go for the outsider, but also can understand STC’s actions as the odds weren’t very favourable this morning.

Fair point maybe im being a little harsh….but surely guaranteeing 2.99 or even 4.67 isn’t better than having a shot at 20 with odds of 2.44 (or 2.56).

I think people get too worried about making a “profit today” and forget the bigger picture thats all, basically the facts being the more you utilise the exchanges the more you lose (i.e. commishon)

Agree with you more or less matchedem.

People are free to take what suits them guaranteed profit vs minimal risk for big pay outs.

End of the day very little difference profit wise in the long term.

Right another great result yesterday means I’ve got a load of fun coming up now. In 4 shops out of the 16 bets I did 8 of them have won and the other 8 are free bet tokens. It’s a brilliant result but gonna play it where I get the tokens first. As they can’t do anything with the normal winning bets.

Just testing the waters myself too.

At lunch time Ill collect my payout on Hull and my free bet on Bournemouth in just the one shop I did.

I’ll probably get my bets on early for next weeks matches to save me a trip later in the week (qualifying odds only okay at the moment 5/5.5 and 3.1/3.2 for the underdogs – still good enough to guarantee profit).

And get an e/w bet on Koropicks in the 14:15 at Thirsk for money back 2nd to SP to make trip a little more worth while.
