Wimbledon 2017 thread

  • Here is a good place to discuss Wimbledon and any bets people find with the offers Matt put on. Just a little fact from last years men’s tournament.

27/127 matches went to a 5th set as a result I would say it’s around a 1/10 chance of hitting a free bet from the offer money back if your player loses in the 5th. These can be better if betting on tighter matches so my strategy is I will be going for this offer with any QL up to a pound.

The paddy power 2 up offer hit 6/127 matches last year. This probably has a similar or maybe slightly better win rate than the 2 up offer they ran last season for footy but not got the stats for them. If QL are less than 1 percent of stake then this seems worth a go for a big win.

Just some stats that show a steady income could be made over the next couple of weeks.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Guru86, are you reffering to the first set score refund offer? If so it’s unlikely you can make it risk free as the lay odds will be ridicoulsly high if they exist at all. The market you want is at Betfair>1st set correct score. What was your bet at Lads?

Ok, presuming you have backed Cilic at Coral. Lay £1.45 at Smarkets on Cilic 3-2. At current odds of 6.26 you will give away £8.12 of your free bet should he lose in 5.

Guys … some advice for those doing the Ladbrokes offer. I’m noticing people who are going about this the wrong way if you’re punting it. Saw comments on the main blog page yesterday with people saying ‘damn I had 7-6 Cilic and lost.’

I have done these all week and made a good amount of cash. You need to be covering your position when in a no lose scenario. If the set goes to a tiebreaker all you had to do was put some cash on Querrey to win the set and lock in about 15 quid. Another scenario might be if you’ve back a player to win 6-4 and the score is 5-4 in favour of this player. If they’re serving bet on the opponent to win the next game/not serving then bet on their opponent to hold.
