Withdrawal Issues 138.com & 12 bet

  • initiated both withdrawals on the 19/3 about £500 pending and nothing contacted chat again and they are saying they were overwhelmed by Cheltenham and are still processing acount checks blah, blah, blah and can i give them until the end of this week. It’s now 10 days on, getting nervous here…

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

The bookmaker has to keep player funds in a ringfenced account, at least to follow law in the UK. I’m guessing there’s no such law that they must have the funds to cover all liabilities from bets, however. It sounds like 138 are really struggling with their cash flow following Cheltenham – worryingly for some people, it also sounds like they’re attempting to reduce their liabilities by reneging on free bets (based on what has been said on here and on the other forum).

Thanks Mark, that’s good to know at least. My accounts are with 12bet and Fun88 not sure where they are based but all part of the same group I believe.

It does sound like the whole group is on it’s knee post Cheltenham. Hopefully they are just taking it slow and recovering their situation bit by bit, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Wow, can’t log in to either account now, both say account closed. So I have no way to check balances or withdrawal status or any account history. From memory I deposited £150 into each account and between the two sites I had a balance of over £900.

If anyone has got any suggestions on a course of action it would be much appreciated.

Just to add to that I have had no email, no explanation, nothing. Just account closed.

Ironically I didn’t lay some of my bets which won so I was more of a normal punter than I have been on almost any other sites. Win as a punter and they steal £300 deposited and all your winnings. What a joke.

just had email from TLCBet they have closed my account and are keeping all winnings (£336) . Reason is bonus abuse, I joined took up there opening enhanced offer and placed 1 more bet , they both won . Absolute disgracefull imo , obviously people are gonna find opening offers attractive and take them up.
Any advice on who to complain to would be appreciated, unfortunately I think there regulated out of UK.

@GrubbyGubber, They have no legal grounds to confiscate your winnings which were made using your own cash. However, as free bets are generally regarded as goodwill, they can take the winnings should they feel you abused the promotion. 138 are regulated by the gambling commission – you need to complain to them.

I have a 4 figure balance across these books and have contacted IBAS. Although there is very little chance of seeing the money again I’m afraid. I also think removing all affiliation to these sites from this blog is a good idea to prevent people taking their sign up offers and being hit with:
‘15.2 In the event that we suspect that you or any other Player is abusing or attempting to abuse a bonus or other promotion, or is likely to benefit through such abuse we may block, deny, suspend, withhold or cancel the account of any such Player, including Your Account if we determine that you are involved in such’

I know 12bet were blacklisted way before Cheltenham took place. How would they even be able to take on UK customers if they are not regulated by the UK gambling commission? That’s really bad that they have done this to you guys. As good as stealing. You need to report it.

Hi Mark thanks for your advice. I actually can’t see my betting history anymore so I can’t tell if they were free bets or not. Both sites also didn’t separate free bets from your main balance. They just removed free bet balances first as far as I could tell. So 1st races of the day would have been my free bets any later races would have been actual cash bets.

Thinking about it I have technically had my deposits back as I had already withdrawn 1k between the two sites by the end of day two. My winning steak with them was ridiculous. From the £300 deposited I ended up with nearly 2k. Of all the places I chose to win like that I chose these cowboys.

My biggest win was Any Currency on Wednesday with bets on both sites not laid due to problems on their sites. Pretty sure that wasn’t the first race so it should have been a normal cash bet. I only bet on him because the bloody site wasn’t accepting bets on short odds horses.

So it’s the Gambling Commision I should contact not IBAS? Without any account information what exactly should I present to them? Sorry to be a pain I haven’t been in this situation before, and hopefully never again!

Check your spam folder if you didn’t get the email, mine was there.
I replied to it asking for my money back and mentioning IBAS. If they fob me off it’s IBAS next: https://www.ibas-uk.com/adjudicationForm.php

12bet my withdrawal was less than my deposits so withdrawal approved & fun88 was more (by £6 only) so got the email and account closed.
I’ve only done the promo on the first day and amounts are very low but I’ll still go through with IBAS form. If anything for satisfaction and to add them costs of admin work.

Both 12bet and fun88 are on UK clubs shirts so sending an email to those clubs informing them sounds a good idea as well.

TGP Europe are regulated and licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. They definitely did not ringfence players funds and this is a sign of their desperation.

I would also agree with Biilly these site should be removed for the links and blogs on this site. I only joined them due to the blog posts about each. Obviously my choice entirely and Matt couldn’t have foreseen this happening so no blame there.

Just it seems they are essentially thieves so there is nothing risk free about taking up their promotions.

Actually I did inform Matt that 12bet were showing as ‘blacklisted’ on one of his offer blogs recently. He said that he always tries bookie out first and didn’t have any problems with them and is going to continue to promote them. Personally, if I knew a bookie had scammed a number of people I wouldn’t be promoting them. After whats happened here I hope he now stops promoting them on here.
