  • initiated both withdrawals on the 19/3 about £500 pending and nothing contacted chat again and they are saying they were overwhelmed by Cheltenham and are still processing acount checks blah, blah, blah and can i give them until the end of this week. It’s now 10 days on, getting nervous here…

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If Matt made profits from the offers why would he update his profit log?

Hahaha , updating the ‘Profit Log’ …

I’m sure it won’t hurt Matt to update some imaginary numbers 😉

Also been hit with this. Had 478 in 12 bet and 200 in 138.

Do we have any recourse or is that it? Money gone. Whilst they still operate.

Garth Kimber looks like a nasty piece of work. “The relevant authorities were informed of our concerns and subsequent investigation and we are in the process of sharing full details of the activities found to have taken place” … so he’s saying that we’re criminals and they’re taking legal action against us? What a joke!

“the company has processed a refund of deposits, voided all bets (winning and losing) and closed the accounts” … I’m sure they’d be refunding my stakes if I’d lost all my bets!

“terms and conditions have been breached” … no they haven’t…and even if they can call us bonus abusers, they can’t take away the winnings from our cash bets. That is illegal!

Garth Kimber looks like such a wanker. I didn’t sign up to any of the websites concerned, but the whole thing makes me despise the companies and their senior directors. All I can say is… the gambling commission better side with punters. The bookmakers are using you as scapegoats for their poor performance over Cheltenham. The fact that they’re revoking winnings from bets made with deposited cash is actually illegal – I wouldn’t be surprised if directors of the company are prosecuted (assuming the commission doesn’t side with them). At least the market will punish them in the long run as their (already poor) reputation is ruined.

    Total rubbish.
I had a Fun88 account for over 2 years but very rarely used it.
I saw the offer of make 3 bets of £25 and then get a £25 free bet for following day.
I made a deposit of £75 but it was impossible to place any bets so I requested a withdrawal of £75 which I am still waiting for.

What do these people expect when they make the offers ?
Surely they expect people to take them up.

His statement sounds like a desparate attempt to save face.

The UK gambling commission needs to investigate and take action

Punters should unite and take this all the way.
A full and detailed investigation needs to be undertaken.

£130 in deposits coming back from 12bet I just replied that they should all hang their heads in shame.

I’ve never held accounts with the bookies in question and haven’t been affected.

I hope there’s some action over this though because it just doesn’t seem right. What this business is essentially saying is it’s fine for punters to assume all liability and risk, and any risk outside of the liability they’re comfortable with can be voided at the click of a finger.

I know they’re a business, but they should know the economics of the betting market and should have plenty of info to draw on to manage their liability (more so than 99% of punters).

None of the reputable bookies have done this and their actions just scream inexperienced/amateur/questionable bookmaker.

William Hill are restricting or banning anyone whoes ever used a mbs on there site atm, think its amateur hour everywhere atm. I think bookies got so ust to making money day in day out they have forgotten what being a bookie is about. I love it when they interview the fence side bookies on tv they make have shitter odds but at least they take the bets and pay out.

Email I received from them..I had an account but didnt use them of Cheltenham.

    Dear Valued Player,

We are writing to you as one of our valued customers in light of some recent press reports following our recent Cheltenham Festival offers in order to clarify the situation.

As a brand we are always aiming to reward and incentivise genuine customers such as yourself, however in order to protect ourselves from abuse we have in place a comprehensive list of terms and conditions so we can prevent abuse from those that we believe are trying to take advantage solely from our promotions. During the festival period we received unprecedented traffic, the majority of which was from genuine customers such as yourself. However we also received a high volume of multiple accounts and bonus abuse, contrary to our terms and conditions. As a result we had to undergo a comprehensive review of all activity over the Cheltenham week, this involved suspending payments during the review, unfortunately this affected some genuine customers and for this we offer our sincere apologies and hope we can rely on your understanding if this did affect you.

The process we took resulted in accounts that were deemed in contradiction of our terms and conditions had their accounts suspended and subsequently closed and all their transactions reversed both for winners and losers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding on the matter.

    Yours Sincerely

    Head of Operations

I have so much more respect for restrictions and bans. I got over £1500 in free bets in 3 months from Hills. I was using almost every MB2nd, Pre Match/Inplay Offers and some Acca refunds in those months.

They let me take all my winnings but eventually said no more Free Bets. Whilst disappointing it did seem quite fair. I was just using (abusing) their bonuses and only ever taking value. I was definitely not a genuine punter and I can understand why they wouldn’t want me to be honest.

At then end of the day we’re not genuine customers so as long as they don’t just steal our deposits and winnings then restrictions in some cases don’t seem too unreasonable to me.
