Thanks Matt, this is going to be great. I’ve seen a few offers banded about. But nice to have them all in one thread.

    1. Matt

No worries Tipsy. Good luck with your selections!

  2. Howard

Other i have seen – Boyle Sports – free bet if your team you backed for WC is knocked out in group stage – £20 max. Might need some considerable funds for this though if picking a poor team deliberately.

    1. tim

      just pick england 😀

      1. Mark

        Haha, that’s one safe bet

  3. JanC

This is probably a daft question, but when doing these outright winner or top goalscorer offers, is it best to pick a few different teams: players?
    Thanks

    1. Matt

Yes that’s correct Jan. You should see a note about that on the individual posts. It helps reduce your overall liability at the exchanges and gives you wider chance of hitting some free bets.

  4. Tipsy Turner

Yeah Jan C. Do a few different ones. To reduce your liability. If you intended to lay them.

  5. Zack

Hi, i see bet365 are doing a bore draw offer with no cap on stake so if it finishes 0-0 you get bets refunded on ht/ft first last anytime scorer and correct score bets. You think this could be worth doing most matches £100/200?

    1. Matt

It all depends on what effective odds you can get Zack. Just divide your potential profit by your qualifying loss and if the odds are a fair bit higher than the odds of the 0-0 coming in, then it’s worth a shot. Just remember to stake an amount that ties in with your account activity.

  6. JanC

Oh, thanks. I don’t really get the bit about reducing your liability. How do you work out how much it would be, if it isn’t the usual amount?
Also, do you think there will be some offers on individual matches rather than these whole tournament offers which tie up the money for so long? I would love to do them all, but haven’t got a pot big enough. It’s hard to work out which ones to do!
Sorry for missing info in the original post.

    1. Matt

No worries Jan. There’s usually an abundance of these type of offer ahead of the big summer tournaments and Premier League season. I think we can expect plenty of offers on individual matches. It’ll be interesting to see whether we get as many as Euro 2016, when so many home nations were involved.

With regards to the liability situation, you can see how each lay bet will affect your exchange position for each team. When you type in your lay stake, your overall position will be shown under each team on the left hand side.

    2. matchedbet12345

I use same trick on horse races, collect up all my free bets and then use them on 1 race if possible on a bunch of different high odds horses, you only need to cover the biggest potential liability on the exchange. Means u need a lot less funds available

  7. JanC

No, I don’t understand that about liability. Say you were able to bet on each horse in a race, well only one would win so all the rest would lose. So how would you win at the exchange for all of the other horses if you only need to cover the biggest potential liability?
    Again, sorry for being dim!

    1. COYY

JanC – you would win at the exchange because you would still lay all the other bets for the normal amount, but only one can win. You calculate your lay bet as usual and place the lay. Say you have got to place four qualifying bets on the World Cup tournament winner – you back four different countries at the bookmaker and your four lay bets have liabilities of £20, £40, £60 and £80. The most liability you would have is £80 because only one country can win the World Cup – the other three laybets win at the exchange.

However, if those four bets had all been on the same country, your liability would be £200 – if your exchange bank is small that’s a lot to have moved into a bookie account!

  8. Mark

Jan, what they mean is that if you win at the bookie then your lay loses, which takes a certain amount out of smarkets/betfair, and so you need to put more in those accounts if that keeps happening.
Imagine if you pick say a horse with decimal odds of 30, and you put twenty quid on it, it’s going to lower the amount you have in smarkets by nearly 600 pounds. Same with the world cup, BUT, if you bet on a few different teams/horses to win, only one at most can win, so you know your smarkets won’t get emptied.
    Hope that helps

  9. Mark

I’m puzzled nothing is coming up from Coral yet

    1. Matt

Fingers crossed Mark. They ran some great promotions throughout Euro 2016 so let’s hope they’re keeping something back!

  10. matchedbet12345

also it pays to spread the bets all around a bit because for sure some teams are gonna be out to hack the big goalscorers like neymar etc. Think about what happened last time and if you put all ur eggs in one basket and that player goes out injured or whatever the whole thing is pointless

  11. Tipsy Turner

I think I will leave the top goalscorer markets. Alot of liquidity tied up, especially with Ascot coming up. Also a bit of a mine field trying to find who will score the goals.

    1. matchedbet12345

Well i would suggest the odds tell you who is most likely. Remember spread them across different players the liquidity is reduced

  12. matchedbet12345

Paddy power is on the top scorer bandwagon now, bet £10 get £2 each time they score

    1. Matt

      Just added mate.

  13. John

Fun88 have 2 x bet £10 get £10 offers on, one for the top Goalscorer and one for outright winner of World Cup

    1. Matt

Thanks John. I tend not to promote Fun88 due to a poor personal experience a while back. Maybe they’ve cleaned up their act since…

      1. John

Fair enough then, haven’t had any problems myself, but not had to deal with CS personally

  14. stellasioux

Hi Matt, there is some talk about different Bookies using different rules to the Exchanges on Top G/S (DH Rules???????) which could result in losing both sides of the bet, can you please shed any light on this…. at the moment I have placed several and laid them, I have then today placed back bets at the exchange to cancel out my lay bets leaving me with the original Bookmaker bet……

    1. Matt

      Any bookmakers in particular Stella?

    2. matchedbet12345

William Hill definately does state on their top goalscorer market:

This market is NOT the FIFA Golden Boot – if players finish level on goals, then dead deat rules apply. If player doesn’t play – bets settled as loser. Others on request.
      1/4 Odds Place: 1, 2, 3, 4

I’m pretty sure all the bookies have the same deadheat rule of half stake at full odds.

Smarkets dead heat rules are here: https://help.smarkets.com/hc/en-gb/articles/212183509-1-11-General-Smarkets-betting-rules

seems like a complicated equation which does the same thing,

Bookie and exchange payout half (or liability of half) what they would have done

  15. tim

I’m thinking also the usual betstars free bet refund if a goal after 80 minutes turns a winning bet into a loser might work out quite well, its valid for all world cup games and there are likely to be some nervy finishes to matches especially when it gets to the knock out stages.

  16. jimmyjames

Sportnation opt in £20 on top scorer £5 FB per goal. Might be invite only, not sure.

    1. Matt

Thanks for the heads up, but yes it’s invite only this one. The same goes for RedZoneSports. We must have received the promotional email/SMS, to be eligible.

  17. gio

Anyone know what the max refund for the bet365 penalty offer is

    1. Matt

There doesn’t appear to be a max refund for this Gio.

  18. matchedbet12345

Marathon Bet: £20 on top goalscorer – £2 per goal

  19. Big Tone

Can the boost be used on the Hills tournament winner offer?

    1. Matt

There doesn’t appear to be anything in the terms to say it can’t mate.

  20. EEJB

The TLC offers have expired now

  21. Bryony Frosty Knickers

    Fun88 also has expired.

    1. Matt

Thanks Justin. That’s a new customer offer that one so I won’t be adding it here as this is a list of existing customer offers mate.

  22. Helen

    Hi Matt,

Thank you for the above offers they are very helpful. Not sure of the right place to ask this but do you have a ‘day in the life’ diary? I’m new to matched betting and finished the intro offers and a bit overwhelmed with what to do next, where to find the offers, when to do them? Many thanks.

    1. Matt

Hi Helen, thanks for getting in touch! I don’t unfortunately no. My advice would be to focus on the offers that I post on the main blog > https://matchedbettingblog.com/blog/. There are a few guides available too (main menu) which should help you get to grips with the different styles of offer. I hope that helps. If you have any questions, just give me a shout.
