Bad EW Races NO CHAT

  • Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Merit in your argument Mr Crispy, I just think its easier to get bigger place arbs on outsiders and therefore bigger potential profits if the underlay comes in.

    Fair enough Chris.
I wouldn’t disagree that there are bigger potential profits..
I’ll keep betting on outsiders as commission savers and you can do the same with favourites.. ?

May as well back both if value!

But if you could only backed one I’m 90% certain you could locked in more profit on the 4th placed horse than made doing a risk free approach on the 2nd fav.

90% certain if you’re betting the same amount on both horses?
Or 90% certain factoring in you could get quite a bit more on the second favourite?

I think both are good. One thing i like about a clear 2nd fave in say a 8 or 9 runner race. You can often back it early with confidence knowing that if there is non runners you can still be ahead of the 2TP market.

    Good point :-) same amount
I’ve not really been affected with restrictions like that. Most of my restrictions have come hard and fast so anything becomes nearly pointless.

Don’t seem to have any in the 200 on the win type category. That could make a difference if you’re looking at 4 times the stake… but if you’re already that restricted then eway on a 4-1 horse in a bad each way race will surely finish you?!

Betman – it might well do. I’m in it for the short haul so tend to take what I can get and, not worry about restrictions/gubbings.

I read someones opinion on here that going each way on the favourite would earmark you as a matched bettor and lead to instant gubbing, restriction and possibly death but, I’ve done it quite a lot and with one exception (which was a £4k bet) it hasn’t led to immediate restrictions.

Also, I’m not disciplined enough to keep good records of my bets so I bet and lay at the same time, I know that I’d probably be better off waiting to lay the place but, half the time I’d forget or lay the wrong amount so it doesn’t suit me. Unless it’s a big meet, it’s hard to bet and immediately lay an outsider because of the lack of liquidity and, then by the time the liquidity is there, the bookmakers have slashed the odds across the board..

    15.50 Haydock

14.10 at Yarmouth is worth watching, only 5 runners.

Wolverhampton 1.50, 2.50 and 3.20 all worth keeping an eye on.

Not really seeing the Haydock one – even before the non runner

Redcar looks good – but odds currently a country mile off

Kilbeggan 17:30 and 20:30, just don’t hold your breath waiting for liquidity on the exchange.

I completely forgot about them, and missed it. Nevermind.

For today I’ve picked out Curragh 14:00 and 15:00. Also, Downpatrick 17:25.
