New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Went round this morning and got boro at 2/1 lay 2.96 so pretty much even. Done this in 4 shops and in the last one decided to study the horses a bit more. Definitely worth going for the mb 2nd and 3rd offer at the same time. Done a couple of horses on that for a 3 quid QL.
Dan or anyone else is there anywhere you can find the race advertised before walking in?
+0The app usually correlates on the horse offers in Ireland Beetsy.
I spilt the Boro game into 6 bets on each, fucking loving this offer.+0Good offer. Especially when there is a clear underdog as there has been up to now.
This sat/sun looks like two very close affair. Still possible to lock in profit but maybe not as much as other weeks.
+0Cheers Dan yeah went round the shops today and did some horses. Beginning to be known by the shops but mixing footy with horse racing offers is not too bad. Had onesie in the 6:50 extra place race. Anyway on the app it said 1/4 odds for 3 places but the horse finished 4th. Big question is will I be paid at a 1/4 or a 1/5. I laid it treating it as a 1/5 then if I get a 1/4 it will be a nice little bonus of 17.50 as just did 25 ew in 2 shops to test the water.
+0@Fog, the underdog is help alright but I just split the Sunderland Boro game 50/50, loaded up with bets and did well out of it. All 4 games so far have had a team winning at half time.
I’m using a few small FBs with other bookies to back the half time result as a draw incase to cover things. This looks good too as I’m using a FB on something with low odds which doesn’t come across as very Matchbettery.
@beetsy it says on the screens the odds for place so check when you’re placing the bet in shop, or just check on the app before the off. Be careful with the extra place races, it’s actually one of the things I’ve found they come down on, I’m barred in 2shops from doing the extra place offers, I’m not going crazy in the other shops to make sure I can keep doing them, even just 50 each way is enough and the profit adds up nicely daily.
+0Didn’t realise it was possible to get barred from a shop.
How do you avoid that? Keep stakes under 50?
Also was in the shop in Dublin there on the way home from work – they do a money back 2nd (not SP) race meeting. Money back as CASH, not free bet, up to €50. That sort of promotion is a matched bettor’s dream. Problem is that it is virtual racing so you cannot lay it – so no guaranteed profit or no managed minimal losses. But I am thinking there might be long term value in it betting on short favourites. Sprint Valley and Paddy Park. I noticed it before. I can see Sprint Valley odds and results on the website (and I am collecting the results into a database) – but what is Paddy Park? Is that just something they have in shop?
What is virtual racing anyway. All the bookies have the same odds and cover the same races. I never looked into it before, but always imagined that it was just like some casino game or carnival game. I just think it’s gas that will hill and paddy power and the rest cover the same meetings and you can bet on the same horses – even though they are only virtual.
+0Nice to know Dan! In the end I did get 1/4 of the odds so was a nice 17.50 extra. I did 25 ew in 2 shops but thought I could go a bit higher so will cap it at 50 or anything that wins less than 1k.
Also I saw the weekend early slips out so when I know the offer is definitely on I’m going to load up on both the games. Am also considering going more London wide for this weekend.
Yday I went to the first shop and think I was too early as the extra place race and mb races were not advertised at the time.+0Get regular offer updates, tip and tricks, big offer alerts and more straight to your inbox.
Hi just to check can I do this offer today or do I have to wait until Friday to place them?
+0Anytime matchedem. Last week I did mine in shop on Monday and still got the refund.
+0@Fog, when I was barred I mean restricted.
I’ve often thought about the virtuals too man but it’s just betting with value and I personally wouldn’t want to risk the variance on the virtuals.
@beetsy I’ve been caught before going too early, but most days the stuff is up early, just the odd day you’ll get caught. Started loading up on this weekends game. EVERY SINGLE free bet from last weekend had to be rung up, the system didn’t pick it up, talk about annyoing, but well worth it all the same.
+0So I still have to claim my free bet from Bournemouth vs Man Utd the weekend before last…anyone see any issues if I go friday?
+0This weekends games look tight, I have a Paddy Power shop 8 miles from me. If I go to to the shop and say place a bet on Spurs and West Brom, separate bet slips? Then match up then up when I get back. How long do the free bets last for, is it a week?
I haven’t been in a betting shop since 2013, but I want to back all four teams this weekend.
+0Current prices from today’s trip on the sheet are Tottenham 11/8 Liverpool 15/8
Wba 6/4
Boro 15/8Backed the home teams in four shops so will go around tomorrow or sat morning and do the aways. All depends on what horse offers are on!
+0Beetsy, most shops here have a touch-screen or a screen with a keypad where you can check prices.
Always check the prices on screen, and if it’s better write the bet on a docket with the better odds.
For example; Liverpool were 2/1 on screen price and Middlesbrough were 21/10.Make sure you check because the difference when doing it multiplies times is huge.
Also I’ll be underlying my bets because I saw someone posted that Laddies are doing an offer if it’s a draw.
+0When placing the bets in shop is it best to fill out a coupon sheet or to write down each bet separately on a betting sheet?
