New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Dan87 – You ever worry about not being given your free bets? I saw you had one game where you had 10 bets on – 5 on each team. Would be quite a lot to lose if PP caught onto what you were doing and banned you from all your shops or they linked all your betting slips (somehow!!).
Reason I ask is because I plan to lock in profit this week (as I there are no clear favourites) and already visited a few shops. It’s one thing have a qualifying loss of £1-2 but if I also back against the team winning at half time (to lock in profit) this does result in a bit of exposure as I could pay out on the exchanges and not receive my free bets.
+0Why risk locking profit then….
+0Because you can make a modest £4-5 each time which can accumulate to quite a lot of money.
What happens if both sets of games are draws at HT this week? I would lose my qualifying bets and going to all the shops would have been a waste of time and money.
Locking in the profit takes away the gamble. I’ve just not done much shop betting nor ever had to claim a free bet (each time I’ve done this so far it’s gone my way!)
+0I highly doubt it STC and what would I lose if they did that? The free bets? They were free so no loss but it won’t happen anyone. I can never figure out how so many on here are so parnoid about doing the offers in shops. The staff couldn’t give a FUCK. Now, there are a few staff that do have the attitude like it’s their money you’re winning or claiming so I might skip claiming a bet or free bet too often from them. Others I’ll hand mutiple free bet calims to (under different offers of course no t the same offer) and they don’t care.
I currently having 20 bets place over the 2 games since the beginning of the week for these, and I’ll get another 10 on tomorrow morning and Sunday. Maybe 15 more.
I see way more profit in these by not locking in profit, all 4 games so far have hit the offer, I’ll use a few older and smaller bets to cover qual losses and have also used Boylesss and laddiess offers in these two to try and capitalise more.+0STC, I am in the same boat as you and I think you get more comfortable with it.
I suppose the way to look at it is that if you are refused a free bet or two – yes its a little hit – but you will be making enough to be able to absorb a few mistakes either by you or by the cashiers.
If you have been matched betting online successfully for a while, there is no reason to think that you can’t continue in store. Give it a go, reduce your stakes, or lay everything to reduce your risk. Probably worth giving it a go.
I am starting off very slow, still only going to the one shop. There’s not really a lot close and I don’t really have the time to take a solid day and head up to the big city to be able to hit 20 shops in one day.
+0Cheers for the replies guys. I did a couple of shops last week with no problems but I’ve gone HAM today – international week so I thought I would strike hard this week in case they don’t offer anything next. Just realised that I have now put on a substantial amount of money on which would equate to a sizeable QL (if I got no free bets back!).
One thing I did notice was that the machines in the shop quite often had the odds at lower than on the betting coupons. I always filled out the betting slip with the higher odds and they never got changed! Any reason for that?
One collecting your “winnings” @Dan87, say you have 5 tickets for one result, do you just go to 5 of your nearest shops and collect or do you always cash in the ticket/collect the free bet from the shop you placed the bet at? As I mentioned earlier, I doubt this offer will be on next week so will only be collecting so want to make life as easy as possible.
Do you guys do much at any other bookies? I’ve got 3 WHs so near to me which I would like to rinse (as I’m gubbed on their site) but don’t see any in-shop offers.
+0STC, I think this offer is on till the end of September.
“Applies to matches played from 13th of August 2016 through 1st October 2016.”
Of course they can change the terms but considering last season they had the bet 20 get 10 free running almost all season I actually expect that this new offer will be renewed again in October, or at some stage in the season at least. Depending on how hard we hit them in the shops though I guess they might not leave it open to shops.

Hey FoG. Sorry I wasnt clear. I meant that as it’s international friendlies next week they might not offer the same promos and it would therefore be a fortnight until this offer is on again.
+0Okay, I see what you meant STC. Makes sense the way that you said it, my fault, I took it up wrong for some reason.
+0Just some info was doing some shops last night. All OK but in one shop the Manager informed me an email had been sent out to watch for people backing both teams to win on the same game. I had got a bit brave on the 6th shop so tried it. I won’t again. One on each always now and will give that shop a miss for a while.
+0Yeah I’ve just done the 1 team across the board for both games. I remember the first week having 16 slips with 8 winners and 8 free bets. Had to get a mate to help me where he got the winners and I got the free bets.
+0So how many have you done on liverpool and how many on spurs?
Same question for Middlesbrough / West Brom?
+0@STC you asked a good question there. Yes, I ONLY collect winnings and free bets from the shop I placed the bet in. Because I’m doing this on such a large scale I don’t want them knowing that I’m placing similar bets in shops that are an hour away. I always make a note (a very fast note) of where I placed the bet, and I’ll only collect it there again. If I have 2 or more free bets from the same offer then I’ll collect it on different days and from different staff. I’m doing this on such a large scale and am making great money from it that I don’t want to be sloppy. There’s no need to be paranoid but there’s no need to be sloppy either.
I’ve got about 5 on each team in today’s game but I’m about to head out now and bring that up to 7 on each. Will have more for tomorrow with he extra day.
Keep your eyes open for other opportunities. There will be nice arbs today. Odds will shift on the Spurs game an hour before kick off and there will be an arb I’m sure there. Last week there was an arb on the City game. Stuck a few hundred on them when popping into shops and made 15 profit. Same with the German team in the Champiosn league qualifier during the week.
Good luck with it.
+0@Dan87 – Guess I’m just getting paranoid because there are literally so many shops in London, quite often 2 on 1 street – at either end! If somebody was monitoring the CCTV across all the shops they would surely be catching us pop from one shop to another!
I see the PP sign and my eyes light up. I have made notes on my receipts so know which one corresponds to each shop so will collect from the same ones I bet at and not cut corners, as you suggested.
Thanks for your advice.
+0Two PP shops here so have each team covered once. The shop address not being on the slip could be an issue if I had more to try and remember what I placed where ha. How do the free bets work in the shop? Is it easy enough to find close enough lay odds vs shop odds? Not sure how easy they’ll be to use if I get any.
