ACCA (again sorry!)

  • Hi Guys,
    First post in a while!

Thought it was time I started on the Acca’s. I feel the best method for me personally is the Lay all at the start method, I presume the no lay method is probably more beneficial, however guess i’m just a wimp!

    Result Bookmaker Exchange Your Profit
    All win (24%) £68 -£40 £28
    1 lose (40%) -£5 -£7.50 -£12.50
    2 lose (26%) -£25 £25 £0
    3 lose (9%) -£25 £57.50 £32.50
    4 lose (1%) -£25 £90 £65
    All lose (0.1%) -£25 £122.50 £97.50

I found the above online, this is based off a £25 stake and back and lay odds of 1.3/1.32. I assume this is correct?

    Any tips would be appreciated!
    Thanks

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

That must be a blow for you with sporting bet fog.

Not acca related but sky seem to have done my 2nd account. Got an email about Vegas gubbing last night so new sports book was at risk but looks like dick heads done it without the email – zero progress on the bet club and nothing credited for the horses earlier

Yeah a bit of a blow. Got to pull out something new again now!!

Lots of ideas on the forum so hopefully drag a few more month out of this betting lark.

fully believe bookies share info, kind have been told as much but nothing specific

had quite a few multiple account gubbings lately

@ Marv, I have also been told by people working in the industry and who have left it that sharing of information does go on. Its not official policy however and there will be no paper trail present that could lead to prosecutions. The companies use 3rd parties to do the work for them and so don’t get their hands dirty.

@ Fog, if you run out of bookies take a look at trading the short priced teams that I mentioned on this thread a short time ago. I think there is money to be made there but its not as easy as I was hoping. The problem comes with getting filled when you ask for a price, but I think with a bit of hard work and watching the odds and the graphs for a while there is money to be made doing this.

I’ve heard of people making decent money doing it, but as you can imagine they are very reluctant to give away too much information about what exactly they are doing.

Is there a way of recovering from loss, after you’ve forgotten to lay a team

I did Dortmund in a 5 team acca. Stupidly i forgot to lay them, and just found out they bloody drew.

My first two legs both won and i layed them both, so far i am £17.35 quid down at the Exchanges and £25 quid down at the bookies and even if i manage to get my free bet with one loss still going be about £22 quid down. Anyway of turning this around or just learn from it.

You’ve lost your liabilities on previous bets. You’ve still got the chance of a £25 freebet so should still be laying. How are you calculating your lays? Spreadsheet or oddsmonkey or…

You will be down either way so learn from it (however I don’t as it keeps happening. But definitely up from it as majority are wins) 1. Stop laying hope the rest win and you’re down a £5 or £25 and your liabilities from the first 2 or, or keep laying as a loser with 0 stake and take a £13 and liabilities loss (roughly)

Interesting to see I’m not the only one to have lost multiple accounts recently. In the last week I have lost bet365 (restricted to pennies on horses 10/1+), ladbrokes (gubbed & heavily restricted on horses), betway (gubbed) betbright (heavily restricted). Betfair and BetVictor (won’t accept any sports bets) went a little while before. The former 2 were a great source of my recent income with 4/1+ races and MBS at ladbrokes proving a goldmine for me.

I found bet365, ladbrokes, BetBright & BetVictor excellent for e/w arbing so that income stream has been restricted.

I don’t know how many of you use oddsmonkey, as since I did their trial I have lost 4 accounts, probably coincidental, but rather annoying nonetheless.

Sportingbet pretty much gone for me then. Tried to do tomorrow’s accas and got limited back to £10 on the first then £1 on the 2nd.

Wonder if it’s fogs fault for flagging the acca approach ;-). More likely because i had an acca stuck with a random 1/50 leg not settled so needed a trader intervention.

Ridiculous 10 days. Stan closed, sky gubbed, Coral restricted to zero and this. Think I’d only lost Ladbrokes since late last year up until this spell.

Potentially a good acca weekend too with plenty low close matches

Yeah too bad isn’t it betman.

Now it’s the shops, or ew arbing or multi accounting.

I’m gonna ew arb through the summer then maybe take to the shops next autumn when the season is back on. If I make it through the summer then at least I have gotten 2 full years out of this scheme with decent profits throughout. Average about €900 per month for the last 20 mths or so.

I have a mental block about multi accounting, not sure why. It’s just some sort of mental laziness about resetting up all the accounts when I ultimately know they will be shut down in no time at all. Even quicker than my original accounts as I’m more ruthless now and straight to the point!! I feel as well that if I wait a little longer that it will be harder for them to link my new accounts to the originals.

I think you’re right in the time span, well hope.
I think I’ve got a backup sportingbet one. My normal username was already registered so think I may have used the signup non matched betting many yrs ago.

Shops is a consideration that guy claiming 96 accas brought to mind, but we both seem to have similar profiles of fitting this in arundel family and work.

I’m already into the Eway arbing a bit, but the frustrating thing is accounts getting restricted at same time as gubbed rather than just losing promos then getting a fresh burst on arbs. I need a site to give wider results than oddschecker for all my other accounts than do horses.
Or to get sufficiently IT literate (can I delegate this at work?!) To write a file that scrapes current market odds then forms approximate place market probabilities.

@ betman I have not read about the guy you refer to with regards 96 accas in shops can you provide a link or tell me where to look.

In respect to time spent and profits made, no lay accas (unless the 5th leg is on a different day) have been by far the most profitable thing I have done in match betting.

But like you and Foggy I know it will only be a matter of time before I lose the best bookies for these offers, so I am wondering what the shop offers for accas are like. From what little I have read, they didn’t appear to be all that good, unless things have changed.

I think it was in one of the numerous profit threads. I wasn’t entirely convinced (despite his photo of about 30 betting slips that could been from anytime) as he sequentially laid it all
Implied he had some sort of system of identifying the sharbs to compensate for the lesser value legs, computing value, getting multiple bets on before prices cut then simplifying the lays
All sounds possible and of interest but not sure it’s practical unless u have a lot of time and shop convience

It’s in the thread “betfair each way edge” it seems. The posters name is Special One. If you punch “96 acca” in the search box it comes up in the first page of results.

I would paste the link in but it seems to blow up the page when I do that.

It sounds like a full time job backing/laying 96 accas. He said 5 hours which sounds realistic enough. Which is okay if your not working mon-fri on a real full time job. But if you are, then it sounds like too much to give up of the weekend.

Thanks for the info betman and Foggy, I will read through what he has written. Main problem for me I suspect will be lack of available shops. I live in a rural area and would have to cover many miles to get to a decent number or shops, so probably unlikely to be worth it.
