ACCA (again sorry!)
-
Hi Guys,
First post in a while!Thought it was time I started on the Acca’s. I feel the best method for me personally is the Lay all at the start method, I presume the no lay method is probably more beneficial, however guess i’m just a wimp!
Result Bookmaker Exchange Your Profit
All win (24%) £68 -£40 £28
1 lose (40%) -£5 -£7.50 -£12.50
2 lose (26%) -£25 £25 £0
3 lose (9%) -£25 £57.50 £32.50
4 lose (1%) -£25 £90 £65
All lose (0.1%) -£25 £122.50 £97.50I found the above online, this is based off a £25 stake and back and lay odds of 1.3/1.32. I assume this is correct?
Any tips would be appreciated!

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Looking at those betslips. There’s multiple accas on one slip. Wouldn’t this just result in one refund? Or is it different in the shop?
+0Good question MbPunter, you can count on one hand how many times I have ever been in a bricks and mortar bookie so I have no idea but would like to know the answer.
Special one said he was putting on 8 accas per shop and hinted that there were ways of getting around the restrictions of one insurance acca FB per customer per day, but did not go into details as to how to accomplish that.
I think we need to find out exactly how all this works in the shops and then hopefully it should not be too difficult to find ways to get over the restrictions.
+0I had a mess around with my E/V spread sheet note I am not a spread sheet expert I copied mine from one someone posted on here ages ago. At the time I looked at the equations and they all seemed logical to me, but I must admit I have forgotten now how they all worked.
From my calcs both Coffeeman and Special One were correct, 5 legs of 1.90/1.92 is slightly more profitable than 5 legs of 1.20/1.27.
Here are the figures along with the following details, the calcs were done with the following assumptions.
1. 80% of FB extraction.
2. No lays done at all on the acca legs.
3. 2% comms paid on Smarkets for the FB extraction.I got 9% EV for the 1.90/1.92 acca and 8% EV for the 1.20/1.27 acca.
The following percentages though show why I would always go for the 1.20/1.27 acca rather than the other one even though you are giving up EV.
For the 1.90/1.92 acca you will lose 2 or more legs 78.5% of the time (from a psychological point of view this would be devastating for most people) and your variance would have huge swings.
For the 1.20/1.27 acca you will lose 2 or more legs 28.8% of the time, this is much easier for people to deal with.
To some of you hardened bettors out there you will think me soft, but I often give up EV to have a higher win rate. I find this is far less stressful and also as I am not laying any legs (except if the first four win and the 5th is on another day) it helps smooth out the variance.
+0Okay fair point Dave. I filled in my sheet and without the 2% commission on laying each leg you are right. 1.9/1.92 is a as you say 9% and short leg loose match is 8%. Though if you do lay as Special One was then it’s less value…
But really the point is that shorter odds are better value or comparable value even without pouring over hundreds odds looking for tight matches.
+0Lads you can do 3 on a slip no problem.. If you lose one on each you will get back 3 free bets.
+0Cheers Special one.
+0Hi all,
I just wanted to ask the experienced Acca guys a few questions. Hope that’s alright?
Firstly, how much of a hit do you think you will take with most of the European league’s coming to an end?
Secondly, I’m looking to start doing this in high street bookies because I want to mix it up with the online stuff to keep it going longer so, I wondered if there is anywhere online I can find out which shops do what offers etc and also the best way of doing it?
Thanks in advance

1. 90% profit loss, no games to bet on other than complete tosh that’ll get you gubbed. Maybe the odd NBA acca etc. No euros this year but a few world cup qualifiers to look forward to.
2. Paddy, Fred’s, Ladbrokes, 25 each.
Coral(notworthdoingforafiver). No lay method works best for selections on a typical coupon. Also look through this thread and oddsmonkey community to do with accas.Who knows, maybe Hills will join the inshop party, or all will pull the plug on the offer. Touch wood no.
+0Cheers Felt. Guess I will need to focus on other sports over the next couple of months then .
+0Jason – The main shops for Acca’s are Lads, Fred & Coral. £25 each.
Paddy do do them but ;- a) there is no way of knowing what odds your acca will be. I have done three seperate Acca’s & eg Liverpool were 4/6 on first (cut from 10/11) then 10/11 on second acca & then 4/6 on third acca. It seems to depend on the combination(s).
b) They will only pay 1 free bet per slip eg 3 Acca’s on one slip will only get you max of 1 FB. Strictly speaking the rules are only ONE free bet per customer per day :(Consequently I tend to stay away from Paddy Acca’s even tho they in theory the offer the best profits & can usually get £50 stakes.
I have never had any issues getting multiple free bets per slip from Lads, but its obviously safer using seperate slips/coupons. Fred & Corals (usually) only accomodate one acca per coupon.
HTH+0As for what to do now that the football is on a break. I know a lot of people look at the extra place markets in golf & the offers on tennis eg player wins first set but loses match.
+0Hi CM, great info. Much appreciated
+0Sporting bet and Betfred do all leagues so you’ll be able to get some on but harder to quantify value… and risk sticking out if you worry about that
Hills offer is on any sport so in theory can still do that. Thinking you may get a couple close match low odds horses, rounded off with some tennis or cricket but obviously oddsmonkey won’t help with that so bit more manual
+0@ coffeeman. Re Corals accas.. they have only just started doing them… have you had any free bets from them yet.
I have afriend who got his first one today (or should have) and was told that there is a min odds of 1.9 on Coral accas, and he had a 1.16 one on his and did not get the free bet.
That was from a phone call from H.O. Is this bollox as no mention of it in terms.
+0@ Special one. I would not be surprised if Coral had done this. After the last world cup qualifiers Corals introduced a minimum odds requirement for the on line insurance acca of 1.11. They didn’t highlight this change though, they just did it and I would imagine caught a lot of people out. I only found out about it because someone was kind enough to post about it on these forums.
When you think about it, there are not many other organisations that would get away with what bookies do.
eg. Planting tracking software on your computer.
Making changes to their terms and conditions without telling you.
Gubbing you if you actually know what you are doing.
I wonder sometimes how on earth they get away with what they do.+0
