Betfair Each Way edge
-
So I just noticed this gizmo.
On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.
For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.
This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.
BUT
If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.
Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.
Anyone use this feature regularly?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

yes a pic of 2.4k accas would be good. upload to an image hosting service like imgur and then post the link on here.
+0Wtf has this post become. Was hoping to get a lazy quick bet for evening races not some raffle about sequentially covering 480 acca legs!
+0Special One, in the 4 place races these are definitely massive value. 3 places i’d agree with you that the majority of the value is in the arb, probably some tiny value in the edge, so people ain’t going to go broke trying to spike 2nd in those for abit of fun.

not sure if that works

That my point.. It is no different than having an arb, full underlaying and hoping it wins.
Its just finding an arb and a bookie that dont gub you. Can find 100 arbs a day, the second part is a little harder though. Hence my shop bets.
+0Yes but the 4 place races you don’t need an arb on the original price.
+0Ah im on the wrong forum? My bad guys but someone should have told me 18 months ago.

bloody hell that is a lot of accas special one
how do you lay them all? simply lay the each one for £25 stake?
what are you getting roughly in percentage return per acca stake, 15-20%? or lower
+020£ on the 15/13 arb is £2.64 profit.
10£ ew edge on 21/13 is £60 if second and 39p profit any other result. So say 8% chance of 2nd makes EV £5 plus…..
Special One you don’t know what you are talking about. The edge definitely added a lot of value to that bet.
Even if there wasn’t ppl are free to play the offers however they want, and as long as they are making money then why argue over what they are doing.
+0Hold on. Was it 1/5 odds?
Still think edge added value. My estimate of 10 ew bet is long term value £3.48 which is still better than the arb.
+0hard to make out but some look to be the same, prem games
+0In fairness if all the accas are the same then can lay them quickly.
Besides I thought you were classier matchedem, why get personal about the mans family!
+0On another note. I see my future is probably in shop accas. Special One, how many can you do in one shop visit without drawing attention. If I went in to paddy and did 3 or 4 over the weekend with different mixes of Celtic, PSG, Bayern, Barca etc would it raise alarms?
I haven’t ventured yet because one £50 acca is worth about a tenner and it’s not worth my time driving around for a tenner, but if I could do 4 or 5 in each visit?

There are 24 different combinations of accas… I normally do 8 accas per shop so that is only 12 shops…. takes me about 4 hours to put on, 30 mins to put into spreadsheet and about say 30 mins to lay em max.
So in all takes about 5 hours to do… average % return is between 15% and 35%… so lets say 25%
So from my £2400 I will make about £600 over the 5 hours it takes to do its about £120 per hour, which I can live with. Obviously I need to do free bets if only one loser but I just stack em up and do them on next run as they dont expire on footy unlike horses.
+0Without being a dick – guys can you take this elsewhere? Some people will want to read through this thread and debating whatever the hell you’re debating isn’t helpful or relevant.
