Betfair Each Way edge

So I just noticed this gizmo.
On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.
For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.
This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.
BUT
If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.
Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.
Anyone use this feature regularly?

Not an opinion… Is, as dog would say, FACT. If you did the same amount as full underlay on the win. You break even on all results but get a big win if it wins, risk free. Basically the same thing. You cant have done it risk free or for no loss if you did it at 21/13 unless you dont pay comms.

James, because you are only laying the win at the exchange you need forget about the enhanced price and calculate it like it’s a win only. So once you’ve applied the edge to 2 places, have a look what the potential winnings are and divide that by the total stake; that will be you’re back odds that you need to put in the calculator.
Original odds of 17 normally work out to be 18.5 with edge applied.

If you must know I had £500 on the Fred boost double at 5/4.1 full unders £420 profit
£120 on churchill @ 3/2.44 full unders £63 profit
and about £200 profit from the footy sharbs this morning.Total = £683 profit with £2000 worth of accas going still.
But you can pick any day and it may be as bad as today for me or it may be a good one.

Really inconsistent figures going around now… £683 is a ‘bad day’ for the special one yet the figure he’s put out there is 6.5k a month… Sorry mate but 683 as an average day is over 20k a month, let alone a bad day.
As much as matchedem can get on people’s nerves, at least he contributes and is consistent with his story.

I am not dissing you, merely pointing out the fact that there is basically no difference in taking a 21/13 edge as there is in taking a 15/13 straightforward arb. Yes there is a difference, you can only do the edge at Betfair and you can do an arb at all books. Either way you will get your account limited soon enough.
Saying you are not interested in my ideas about ‘value’ and you just want fun leads me to think you are on the wrong forum.
I thought the idea was to make money either risk free of find the correct value and have, for want of a better word, an ‘edge’ over the bookie. If you want to have fun and hope to make money you can do the bingo or roulette. I still maintain that 21/13 is not risk free as you have to pay comms.
I just don’t think people should be guided in the direction of doing the edge if it is no better than straight arbing.Finally of course I multi-shop.

It is in fact £2400 worth of accas and they are £25 max .. so I have 96 of them.. I do lay as I go as I wouldnt fancy the variance although I know it is more profitable not to.
