Betfair Each Way edge
-
So I just noticed this gizmo.
On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.
For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.
This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.
BUT
If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.
Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.
Anyone use this feature regularly?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Oulamayo 16.62/16, Lets go dutchesss 7.4/7.2
+0lol harry, just like you, the leicester fav last night and now this one today
again i really could not resist trying it, will be restricted right down now but frankly dont care, nearly £500 in two races
i find each way arbing harder on multiple accounts because you dont have any flexibility to get at the cash, a decent each way arb guaranteeing say 30% of stake (because i am one for guaranteeing), thats like 10 x £80 each way bets, and to be honest 30% fully guaranteed is not there every day, maybe 1 a week for me, because you need a real specific race and being on it to find them quick
so on that basis need like over a thousand or so sat ready, but only takes one 16/1 winner to drain nearly £1.5k from exchange to bookie, then the process of getting that back off the person holding the multiple account, my bankroll is a decent size, but not ready for each way arbing to big levels yet where cash can get tied up where you do not want it
i do wonder if there are people who were smart enough to cotton on to the edge back when it came out and were making thousands, until it became a little more public knowledge and betfair seemingly clamped down on it
+0Can’t believe my damn eyes. ANOTHER 2ND PLACE EARNING ME ANOTHER 260 QUID WHICH MEANS I’M £610 UP FOR THE LAST 22 HOURS. SPEECHLESS TO SAY THE LESAT.
+0Are there any good Chester races for this offer tomorrow? I couldnt find anything today FACT!
+0how many betfair accounts you got, 2 left here so I might try it one more time but going to keep at least 1 final account for usual ew arbs
+0Isn’t this like the the other e/w races where the bookies and exchanges offer different places terms,
If i move the slider and take 2 places on betfair, so it gives me better odds and better e/w odds. What happens with the exchanges if it comes 3rd?

Managed 83 bets in total over a 3 week period using the ‘edge’
90% of stakes were either £5 or £10 each way with a few smaller ones, I did some smaller ones since I overlaid everything to ensure a modest profit unless horse was 1st.
Total profits on this were £346.89 with a max profit on 1 race of £108.23 and max loss of -£14.13.
Shame that I have now been gubbed and cannot get any stake on any horse race – it was good whilst it lasted!
+0Anyone with accounts to spare… in the 16.00 Ascot tomorrow Hors de Combat is a pricewise pick and likely to be 41.0/18.5. I will be going in on *small* stakes. 😉
+0Possibly Remarkable too – but haven’t seen Grids. (another Pricewise)
+0You’ve been great with these in recent weeks lewi. I’m on a break from each way edge but I’ve backed both horses each way at Paddy for the two extra places they are paying. Hopefully those Pricewise ummm prices come in.
+0surprised some continually can bet the night before without restrictions, but then i dont know your other account activity
might be worth leaving the edge a few months, hopefully it dies into the background a bit so doesnt flag up for as quick restrictions
