Betfair Each Way edge
-
So I just noticed this gizmo.
On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.
For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.
This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.
BUT
If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.
Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.
Anyone use this feature regularly?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Well played FOG there will be enough people ITK as to how to do it. I remember when I first started EW arbing I had numerous fights with myself wanting to release the information but wanting to make enough so that I could do this for a living. I then hit the trade off where I knew I would be ok for several months and wanted certain people on this forum to find out the methods.
With regards to the OP thanks for sharing the information but you must have known as soon as you put it onto a public forum there would be a lot of people doing the method. I hope you still do well out of it.
+0Tennispunter, winning returns 207.50 divided by stake 20. Gives you back odds of 10.375.
+0This is doing the rounds now with mods on other forums attempting to stop it for all the reasons listed.
People are reporting being restricted after 2 bets, with an apparent betfair representative present on one of the forums taking note.
Its just a sure fire way to lose your betfair accounts now – the thread should be removed so this doesn’t happen to any unaware people.
This “loophole” is officially dead.
+0Not sure what all the fuss is about here. Its going to be hard to hit a profit from these especially if you’re backing horses at 25/1 over hurdles. Long term I agree it will pay off, only needs one to come in for a nice profit. However, it’s pretty much an inverted extra place offer and those getting antsy over it being posted here are just trying to protect their own interests.
+0Anyway, I’m on Golden Birthday. Seems like its meant to be.
+0Mbpunter – thks for your response.
I am not certain that knowing the overall back odds in this case then enables me to work out the formula for the lay stake (£19.80) in Fogs example – are you able to kindly expand on your answer?
+0You don’t need to, i just work out the effective odds then run them through the calculator as normal..
So in that example
Stake £20
Back odds 10.375
Lay odds 10.5

Hope you guys got Limited Reserve, came second.
+0had four in the race but not that one
ffs
+0Nice one. Hope a few more got on him too!
+0Good stuff guys. Slightly frustrating that it was a smaller bet than the others due to pricewise stake restrictions.
+0Just took 2nd place ew unfortunately! Thanks for the heads up anyway!
+0Thks MbPunter – most helpful and much appreciated
+0Thanks FoG and others who are sharing the technique and real world examples.
To anyone trying to keep it all hush hush… I find that attitude selfish and frankly ridiculous in a community like this that exists to help one another. It remind me of Patrick and his elitist, “golden days” view of the world.
+0Cunts eh Tony
