My theory beyond matched betting

  • Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.

The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.

For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)

Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.

As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.

Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

For 3-4 hours yes I would.

No I wouldn’t work 7 days a week for 22k* but, I’d rather spend 7 days a week “working” on Betfair than 5 days a week teaching little urchins that spend their day trying to outwit me for the same amount.

*unless the work involved sitting around in my pants all day eating crisps.

That’s fair enough, I don’t think I am right and everyone else is wrong on this, just that there are a lot of issues that haven’t been mentioned here.

One of the things to note is, would you still trade your job for a matched betting career, if you knew that you would definitely only get 1-2 years as a matched bettor, and then have to try to find a new job again?

Additional aspects to look at such as you’d never be able to get a mortgage or even rent anywhere as they wouldn’t take matched betting as proper income?

Depends on your situation I guess

I think you guys are forgetting that he’ll get to sit around in his pants all day. That’s frowned on at my work.

But seriously, what’s the EW arbing pension scheme like?

I’m liking the pants argument, it makes you think about it from a different point of view

The other aspect is a job has a career path. You can hit promotions and pay rises. With betting it’s the opposite as you get more restricted.

But he’s no newbie and knows what he is doing. Wouldn’t advise it in general but congrats to him for being able to make it happen. Brave move.

Anyway it’s his own business now back to matched betting.

Usually I applaud and enjoy your comments Johnson but am surprised here. Whether he quit the job or not doesn’t matter as he said he can walk straight back into it at any time. With that security he’d be mad not to.
7 days a week, but it takes 5mins in the morning to identity the races and then only a few hours depending on the races of the day. This can be done on a phone in a pub too.

I say fair play to him, I’m making a very generous salary from sharbing these days and I know if I told friends what exactly I was doing they would frown. I do 6-7 days a week but it’s only 2 hours a day in truth and I have my freedom. I wanted to go on a holidays to Europe for 3 days last week and just booked it and walked out the door the next morning (on a Monday)

Whether there is a future in it or not doesn’t bother me, (and the same I know goes for Beetsy) things always evolve, there are always more ways to make money in this coming. I have an exit strategy planned even, where the profits are making more and more for me in other areas.

I feel like leaping to Beetsy’s defense here but it mirrors my own situation. You can never tell what will hapeen in the future, just make hay where the sun shines, enjoy the great perks and freedom of it and plan an exit.

I think being retired with a half decent pension behind ya. You could make serious money at this.

Problem most of us have, is we work F/T and this is secondary income. I’ve missed countless opportunities because i am stuck in work. Grrrrr

Weekends, midweek football and Evening Racing is where i make my cash. i’m going to try and book my holidays around Cheltenham, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood to really hit the bookies.

I agree with you DAN, fair play to Beetsy whether he is earning £17k a month or not. He has brought something to the table and opened the eyes to most of us. Anyone who makes good money on this, owes him a good drink.

It’s nice to read someone doing well. This forum is about sharing new offers and helping each other to get as much as they can out of the bookies. That’s what we are all here for surely.

Exactly Bazza, he’s a success story in something that so many are whining is dying. It’s not dying, you just have to look outside the box.

Dan87, I have just been reading up on Sharbing

Should we start a separate thread for this, however I appreciate you might not want to share too much of your experience as to be giving away your advantage to others etc

@dan87. I was also meaning to ask about your sharbing. Are you a member of a site that posts the info or do you do it yourself. Also is it instore offers or a case of picking up the slips and spending a few hours working out all the odds
