My theory beyond matched betting
-
Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.
The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.
For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)
Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.
As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.
Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Right back from holiday and I always knew one or two along the way would perhaps question my decision making which is fine.
I won’t say what I have done with my profits but they are currently safe and can be called upon if needed. I will keep topping this method up whilst things go well and have left myself with a working bankroll.
Once this bankroll halves in value this will signal the time for me to go back into my profession. If that happens to be in 6 months time then so be it. If I can enjoy my life which I have done the last 2 months and continue to build the roll and continue to have my life back which I did not towards the end of my last job then I will keep on going.
A couple of others made some good points RE with promotions and mortgages. In the profession I was in your salary goes up in scales for the first 6 years your teaching so what I will do at the start of January is adjust the difference for my new daily target.
In terms of mortgages that is also something else I have considered. The dream is to be able to become a cash buyer and either rent the property or move out of London altogether. The reality is that there could become a point where I need to be on a certain salary in order to get the mortgage. This is where I look to open another bank account with a different firm and transfer where I have been putting my profits into it.
All of these are questions to look at one day. For now even though the profits won’t get back to 17k a month. There are enough opportunites to hopefully make 10-20% of this figure in a month which will be fine as one thing to remember it is all tax free.
I also do not work 7 days a week. If I have stuff planned then there are days where I won’t even bother to look at the schedule.
If some people who have helped me on this community in the past can also make some additional income then we are all winners at the end of the day in our wars with the bookies.
+0Good for you Beesty. Hope it works out for you.
Races today 14:15, 17:20 anyone spotted any others?
Coral doesn’t appear to be doing 1/4 odds on any meeting today and 188bets enhanced place races aren’t the best. Skybet paying 5 places 1/4odds on the 16:10 though
+02.15 second fave is currently good for 11% profit based on 5% commission
+0Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but strictly speaking if betting is your main source of income you have to pay income tax on it.
Otherwise, good on you, and carry on!+0if you are doing it by the book, wouldn’t you be able to declare your loses as well as your winnings?
+0You don’t have to declare anything because what he’s saying isn’t true.
+0I agree with Tino Asprilla although I’m sure HMRC would accept the tax.
In the UK, you don’t pay income tax on winnings on horses, it doesn’t matter if it is your main source of income or you are a professional.
You don’t get any relief for losses either.

Show me one story of a person paying taxes on winnings. Have heard people say it before but it’s not true and if so… there’s always many ways around it.
@those asking about sharbing. I don’t use a site, I don’t spend hours. I go into shops daily, I do muliple offers on whatever is floating around, MB’ing, extra places, sharbs on coupons, Beetsy’s place part arb way.
Plus I use a few lay systems and other betting systems, tipster as well as my own betting. Waiting for people to say all of these don’t work but they’re the same people who have to face a boss every Monday morning so say what you want :-)
+0I’m all for it Dan. Apart from comparing odds I wouldn’t know where to start tho. I assume you have a rough idea before you go in. Are in store offers advertised else where.
In theory if you could make £20 from one store could you not replicate that in 50 stores.
Only offer I have tried to do instore was a ladbrokes one a while back, I had to sign up for an odds on card then the next day spent ages on the phone trying to link it to my online account after they sent me an email stating my account had been voided or something like that due to duplicating accounts
Do other bookies have systems like this in place
+0About 6pm tonight, picked up a weekend coupon in ladbrokes, they were not yet available in Hills, so took a mid week one just to compare prices tonight
On brief look, only juventus at 1.5714/1.52
Dan, do you find weekend much better
+0Mike, I just walk in to the shops and whatever is available I take. I don’t spend time looking else where. Everything is on screens, posters or coupons in shops.
Marv, it’s all luck. The Monday coupon with Estonian footie could be better than a weekend coupon sometimes, all luck really.
+0mike. I’ve been forced to branch out into the shops too. I don’t do much just testing the waters. But I hear what Dan says, sometimes you just walk in and see a decent offer when your there. I imagine if you are doing a number of shops, you will do alot of discovery in the first shop to see what will be available the rest of the day.
All I do at the moment is the money back matches on prem and an acca insurance each time I go, and just one shop so far. Reckon the trip to the shop is worth €15 just on that (but multiply that by 10 or 20 or however many shops you can go round in a week). Also there is always more going on in the shop when you get there in Ireland at least. Money back 2nd on the virtual races, enhanced prices on show, 2 extra place races every day, money back 2nd sp fav one meeting every day. A lot of price boosts too but I have yet to spot one with any potential to lay against for profit.
I am starting to see the potential. I would advise you to go in with a plan just do the weekend footie offers and nose around to see whats going on.
I think if I can make it worth a little more and build up a bit of a bank roll then I will make it a regular trip up to Dublin at the weekend where you can pass 20 shops in an hour or two – its hard to find time though between work and family. It is definitely an extra commitment compared to online.
+0I did the 1650 at Ayr. I got £25 off a £50e/w. My cunning matcha makes that 25%. Could’ve been more if I had the nuts to wait until the last minute to lay the place.
Problem is I keep picking winners with £50 e/w! Today and yesterday I’ve picked 3 winners at 16/1, 12/1 and 18/1. Bookies are taking a hammering and I suspect I’ll get restricted.
I think this may need better bookie management to try and spread out the bets between them. However certain ones seem to consistently offer better odds or 1/4 odds on the place so they get hit harder.
This seems to be good for an easy £30 a day at the moment tho at my stakes.
+0Good going beaver. That’s an impressive return. Haven’t had chance to do much today due to not being at my laptop.
Since beasty mentioned doing more than one horse per race I’ve been doubling my profit.
Am on holiday next week in Spain and unfortunately betfair exchange is not allowed over there. I will be using a vpn whilst there but does any one use one that they use currently that works well on android
