My theory beyond matched betting
-
Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.
The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.
For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)
Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.
As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.
Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Yes coupons, picked them up yesterday
Thought that was how sharbing works?
+0Also that is exactly how sharbing is explained if you research it
I welcome peoples comments, especially Dan
+0Be careful Marv, those laddies coupons are updated automatically once the coupon is scanned. Only once it’s gone my way with lads. Same with boyles.
only paddies seem to work for me. made over 30 on the everton coupon sharb today alone. it was a nice one.
+0Pickle my 30 smarkets profit is – 8500
Is anybody making money in their smarkets accounts? If we hadn’t layed our bets we would be up a fortune!!! – My Football Accas keep winning or getting one wrong – I stopped laying some of them – I seem to be making more money that way- It only a matter of time before the bookies start to Gub our accounts – If possible i always try and back my bets in the shops – i defiently would have lost my paddy power accounts by now, i won 4000 euro from their shops this week, thats why my exchange has taken such a battering.
Beaser keep us informed when you get grubbed, nothing worse then having a string of big winners winning when u want them to lose!!
+0How about hills and corals?
I only provisionally looked at sharbing for time being, as said above I have so far read a few web pages about sharbing and it talks about football coupons
+0Marv, I can only speak for Ppadddies coupons, the rest I’m not familiar with in shops.
Nic eone on the 4k Bugs, was it from the horses offers you made that yeah?
+0@Marv, you will often find that good coupon sharbs get cut fairly quickly, especially if someone mentions it on an open forum. Some people share coupon arbs privately with one another like in a little group. Each person looks at a certain area (sharing the work load if you will), then share with the group what they find. I am not a member of any sort of this kind of group and have no idea how to get into one. Doubt if they are too happy having new members anyway unless you can bring something really useful to the table.
Unless you have access to lots of shops in your area you will eventually be stopped just like on line accounts really. Apparently bookies ever pass on pics of you to their shops in the local area. Not sure if this is legal or not, but I’m fairly sure it goes on.

na dan i just was underlaying horses with some of pp half time losing free bets and they won, 3 long shots in a row, was ragging,i didn’t want them to win!! – Can be very annoying when u have a few 12/1 horses win when don’t want them to – creates so much extra work , collect money etc
So am minus around 10k in smarkets for the month – i haven’t actually made much this month – Things can change quickly though
+0Hi!
I am sorry if this is asked somewhere in the thread but how do you calculate the exact place odds in decimals. Lets say a horse is 12/1 as in your example on bet365 and the place odds is 1/4 of the win odds and in your example its 3/1 (4). If i calculate that using decimals the win odds is 13 and then the place odds would be (if it where 1/4 of the odds) 13/4 = 3.25. Am i missing something here ?
+0Hi Wiggy.
If a horse is 12/1 then his place odds are 1/4, so that is 3/1.
Its easier to do it in decimal because fractions can be tricky to think about if they are not just x/1 like something like 7/4.
12/1 is 13.0 in decimal. So place is (13.0-1)/4+1=4.
+0subtract 1 from the decimal price, then divide by 4 (or 5 if 1/5) then add 1 back on.
so your example would be 12/1 = 13 in decimal,
13 – 1 = 12
/ 4 = 3
+ 1 = 4 so e/w odds here are 4.
HTHedit : beat me to it fog!
+0Thx guys!
I understand even if its confusing.
+0How are people getting on in the week with the EW arbing?
Without the 1/4 odds (the 8/9 runners option) I find it somewhat difficult, reason being at work when all afternoon racing is on, so finding a possible opportunity is limited in a way
Then you factor in liquidity in week too…
To be honest the weekend is where I make most of my money really, Saturday has to be a big day each week
+0Lost a 365 account. £100 e/w and had a couple of horses steam in from 28 down to 12ish then win.
Liquidity in the week can be tricky on the place part, had partial matches and had to quickly redo last £50.
Might try to stick with lower odds in future but I keep finding good arbs at 18.0+, particularly on extra place races (I find this range also finishes near to fifth more often, although this might be selective memory).
+0Due to bankroll restrictions, I have only ever been doing races with liabilities of up to £500/£600 on average, so whether that is £50ew on 10/1 or £100ew on 5/1, something in that region anyway
The hills offer Saturday was good with the first 6 places on Cambridgeshire, yet the top 6 market on betfair was awful, top 5 was nearly same odds and more liquidity too
I think I need to trust the market a bit more on the place side and not lay too early, however only those horses than continued to shorten on the place side, they continued to steam in on win, so picking random horses and always getting steamers definitely wont happen, guess it is best to not get greedy
I still find the 1/4 odds races with 8 or 9 runners the best at the moment, that might be because I am not doing the extra places (big fields more runners) much due to bankroll etc
Having £2k-£3k going round in circles for matched betting is sufficient but for these ew arbs as well then £5k plus is really needed, and that is for the lower staking arbs lol
