My theory beyond matched betting

  • Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.

The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.

For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)

Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.

As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.

Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hi, has anyone has any experience with lesser known bookies like Marathon, 12bet, 188bet, Jenningbet and sportingbet with regards to EW arbitrage. I am restricted on a lot of bigger bookies. Thought my MB career is over until recently started on EW abritrage by subscribing to Oddsmonkey. Noticed the odds on these bookies tends to be good. Just worried if I win big on these bookies, I might have trouble withdrawing. So far, Sportingbet seems ok with me withdrawing. Only just started with them for about 1 month. Thought of giving other bookies a try to avoid kept hitting Sportingbet. Any suggestion/ advise? Thanks in advance.

Dont ever trade inplay using betfair feed…. its at least 10seconds behind the feed inside the bookies

@Rose 88 I haven’t gone into these other websites. I am still being able to make enough a day at the moment with a strategy that has been going for the last 2 months. It is something I am considering and Sportingbet is on my list along with a few others.

I still have other ideas which should keep me ok. Supert that is interesting with the feeds. I always find them ok on my computer in that they turn in play a few seconds after the white flag is raised or the last horse has gone in the stalls. It means I have the confidence in certain situations to go in even after post time or with 2/3 horses out the back if a late chance occurs.

It will also be interesting how this goes over the winter with the earlier starts and more jumps meetings. I guess these longer races have a higher variance in the place markets so could make for a differing spread in percentages on decent each way races. Where the fun and games will begin is when meetings get abandoned due to the weather but I am currently a month ahead of schedule from what I would have earnt teaching so should be ok.

Am definitely interested in whether people are trying it on smaller less known websites. I managed to have a good run on betstars before my stakes have been restricted to £20-£21 on any race. However, not officially gubbed and can get on the faller insurance promo still. They will also allow the same amount on a 2/1 as to a 100/1 so occasionally it can be useful when a longer odds opportunity appears.

I really want to try it on sunbets or a new site to see if they can work it out but will see what other people comment and will delve in myself should things become more awkward with what I am currently doing.

Good luck with it everyone and keep plugging away.

Beetsy delighted to hear you’re a month ahead of projected earnings and that you’re doing well. Fucking does my head in on here to always see people crying about how things are dead and this won’t work and that won’t work. Cheers to you mate!

Also, I think there could be even more opportunities over the winter season, sure there are less races and abandoned races but the amount of outsider donkeys in jump races seems high.

Cheers Dan and to yourself I hope things are going well with you. Your posts about the shops etc etc have meant that I have had confidence to go around several shops. I actually hit a big losing streak in the shops by betting 50-100 at all times and due to the half time offer stopping I haven’t ventured out yet to do the acca abuse.

However, I know it is there when I want to and love your strategy along with others. I also have a couple of other plans up my sleeve that should work should for whatever reason my daily income starts falling off dramatically.

Long live matched betting and yes it has got harder for a newbie but I am grateful that I managed to get on the bandwagon at the same time as a lot of other forum regulars on here. I could list them but would not want to miss a person out.

well done beesty, that is certainly something to aspire towards. i’m still only doing £25 – £50 E/W at the moment on maybe one or two races a day (through sheer laziness) but have found that I’m actually making more cash like that than doing any offers in the traditional sense. its also nice to get something out of all the bookies that so spitefully gubbed me in the first place! I’m looking at you paddies, hills and corals! lol

I have used Sportingbet quite a bit. I had no problems with them, up until the point that they restricted my stakes to a maximum of a couple of rupees..

In my experience they are woefully slow at updating their odds, so you can often find arbs when things get interesting just before the off.

How long did you manage to keep an account with them? They are still on my list to do have a clean bill of health with them from previous offers but they hardly do any now so worth a go if things do go wrong with what I am doing.

    Not very long it appears…

According to my account history I only made 11 bets since opening my account. Most of them in September.. 6 x £25, 2 x £50, £100, £25, £10.. I thought I’d made a lot more.

SportingBets just started restricting my stakes down to Pennies..never do their money back promo, only did their sign up offer and mainly EW arbs….didnt last too long ….good well it lasts I guess…

How are people getting on, I find it very hard in the week because all 8-9 runner races are 1/5 odds and hardly any 16+ races

I also dont seem to find anyone doing enhanced place odds too
