My theory beyond matched betting

  • Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.

The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.

For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)

Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.

As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.

Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Well done on all winners and to be honest its been the maddest week I have had on it.

Wednesday was down 440 in a race by double laying a horse but pulled it back to be 80 down.

Thursday and Friday averaged 200 profit.

Yesterday was another 200 but may be 450 more depending on that extra place race.

Today was 180 down but have pulled it back currently to being just 30 down.

It is all part of the fun been an unlucky run but to be honest half of it has been my own fault.

    Just keep on winning guys!

Beesty do you still have online accounts or are you betting exclusively in shop now?
I recently received the dreaded email from 365.. A sad sad day!

Using a total mix of gubbed accounts that let me have small amounts on. More can go wrong as I am literally going click click click through 3 websites a race sometimes.

Its the worst day to have Mr Crispy I remember hitting them so hard for 6 weeks before I got gubbed from them. It’s like a war between us v the bookies and it goes through phases and battles.

I am pleased that there a few who are still going and many others who have joined the force along the way!

Sounds quite a challenge. Switching between 365, oddschecker and betfair was enough to keep me feeling pretty busy!

I did pretty well the same, since the start of October I’ve been as aggressive with 365 as my float would allow! It was nice while it lasted.

Best of luck for next week!

well I managed about £30 today, mostly because I underlaid horses that came nowhere near the front, and was put off by the threat of non-runners.
This is also the third time I regret not backing sternruben, that damn horse must come in the extra place every time it runs!!!

Yeah its a challenge but really rewarding in the end was 15 up for the day which sounds silly but is a great result. Yesterday I normally play Football so it was a bonus to have a good day yesterday.

I wouldn’t mind the next few days to just be simple and be able to take around 100 each day if things go well.

beesty, do you mind me asking how you do it during the week, there never seems to be any enhanced place odds, which seems to basically knock out the 8-9 runner races because 1/5 odds does nothing

are there that many 16-18 runner races? take saturday for example, there were a few 16-17 runner races but even using bet365, which seem to be the best to provide top prices, the opportunities were so low

now i do use smarkets over betfair, 2% compared to 5% can make big difference on these each way arbs, however whether the lack of liquidity is hurting me, yet the win part i would never not use smarkets

it just seems like some saturdays the odds are never there, yet some saturdays there are plenty of chances, again standard weekly racing i never ever find matches, that being said i have mostly been only able to see what the evening all weather racing offers and the 8-9 runners are horrific

Marv – It’s a fast paced game where all the action often happens in the last 7 minutes. Often in 8/9 runner ones something gets backed in and you have to take the chance even if it is only there for seconds.

When the bookies go to the show price they all seem to follow a centralized system so it is all about beating that. It is really fast paced and can go wrong like the example above.

If you get it right you make quick fivers throughout the day which keep me going at this moment in time.

Marv. Have a look at Corals odds midweek. I found quite often they had at least one meeting with 1/4 odds. With practice (identifying the right race, timing) I was extracting around £30-£70 from a 100 e/w bet. I almost exclusively used corals for this reason until they barred me after a few weeks.

In relation to the above I think I hit them too hard too fast. I took about £700 off them in a couple of weeks. With new accounts I’m going to reasses how I approach these to make it less obvious. I guess I got greedy and made it way too obvious what I was doing.

What size stakes are you guys using and are you spreading out the bets a bit more or do you think just to smash it as quick as you can as I did?

I’m only betting £25-£50 E/W and am mostly using my corrals, paddies, will hill and fred accounts which are all gubbed and limited in some way, so its a matter of seeing how much they allow per horse. I tend to find midweek on smarks if you have backed early the best prices for the place seems to be about 15 minutes before the off and then 2 or 3 minutes before the off. they seem to be higher say 14-5 minutes before. its always stressful having your lay waiting in the queue at 2.4 and watching the price bounce around between 2.42 and 8.2! (and then see it go off at 1.6!!)

The 17.00 at newcastle looks good for e/w arbing on the Napoleon Solo ?

Also Paddy giving mb on 2nd to the SP Fav 2/5 noble star – the rest of the field are donkeys – surely Napolen solo will start the race at around 1.4 for the place – currenly Paddy offer 1/4 odds of 3.25 so 1.56 –

Seem tasty to me – especially with that MB offer
