SMARKETS – 'not fit for purpose'

The new platform is an absolute disgrace.

It sticks
It freezes
It shows prices that aren’t there
It doesn’t shows prices that are there

I have sent them an email to express my disappointment with the ‘upgrade’.
I know others have spoken to them on the phone and they are just not bothered.
Seriously considering removing my custom from them and just suck up the extra 3% commission with bfex.

Thoughts?
Anyone else contacted them?

I did when it first launched, but as a direct result of a problem which cost me money. Their response was as if it was entirely my fault.
Lots people must have complained then as it did improve, but seems to have got worse again lately. On the plus side gained a tenner today with it failing to correctly show a lay position again

But if they are serious of taking market share they need to offer a decent service

Otherwise they will take a small portion of ppl scrimping on commission….. which is probably mainly us as we have high turnovers and generally use the markets to hedge rather than directly gain

‘Your own fault’. WOWZERS.

Their customer approach does not seem to be friendly at all. It would be interesting to see the amount of complaints per month. Wonder if we can access that information ?

They had a phase of duplicate bets, on the mobile at least. But refused to accept that and said I must have separately placed 2 identical bets within a second of each other. I spotted and corrected them, but got a bit pissed off when it doubled laying a freebet and the market moved loads straight away….and it won
Now it seems to be general lack of response, or lack of ability to update.

I absolutely agree.

2 days ago I with drew all my cash from them and will not use them again. The interface is horrible, as is the navigation and it seems to randomly ‘cancel’ markets. Icing on the cake was when it triple layed a darts bet on Thursday turning a profit into a loss.

Betfair isn’t perfect and 5% is actually a chunky amount of cash (and maybe less justifiable these days) but at least it’s stable.

I noticed last week that there was multiple bets on my account. Thought it was a glitch with the information displayed. I wonder if I’ve profited from it in this instance

Thats the problem though, a viable alternative. Betfair with their 5% commission and lets be honest, not a great platform either isnt really an option if, like me, you place lots of bets with them anyway.

I completely avoid the smarkets mobile site.

I started a thread on this not too long ago…support staff not interested.

What is so frustrating is that the old software worked fine…they must know by the sheer volume of complaints that their mobile site simply does not work…

I have bought a spare laptop to use the desktop version, just hope that doesn’t get ‘upgraded’…

It’s 14.15pm on a Saturday and their site goes down and crashes. The only thing that keeps this mickey mouse outfit in business is their 2% charge.

I’ve got loads tied up in them, now have to go on Betfair and deposited a few hundred.

E/W bet placed at BFSB, win already laid at smarkets but can’t lay the place. Can’t even lay it on betfair exchange as that’ll get me restricted! What a joke!

I think i read on here a few months ago this lot cost someone on here a stack of cash.

Their support and team don’t give a hoot. Apart from fellow MB and arbers. Who would use them, not Joe public surely
