SMARKETS – 'not fit for purpose'

  • The new platform is an absolute disgrace.

    It sticks
    It freezes
It shows prices that aren’t there
It doesn’t shows prices that are there

I have sent them an email to express my disappointment with the ‘upgrade’.
I know others have spoken to them on the phone and they are just not bothered.
Seriously considering removing my custom from them and just suck up the extra 3% commission with bfex.

    Thoughts?
    Anyone else contacted them?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Is it just me or is their site really struggling with the US Open golf market? Seems to be very slow.

There is an option at the very bottom to continue using their old desktop site.

Thanks MB, old site is so much better, couldn’t even copy and paste from calculators in the new site!

The mobile site initially had this option for about a month, so expect it to disappear from desktop shortly too

I wonder if ANYONE has given them positive feedback on this

They seem to have ‘upgraded’ the mobile app too. Pretty much unusable, at the best your bet matches… Doesn’t display as matched, but you can verify by toggling by your bets and account on menu.

Matt – reckon you can negotiate a commission discount for us if you switch the ‘in association with’ to betfair??

I hate how the app constantly logs you out for no reason whatsoever. Its completely random, you can stay logged in for days or you can be logged out every 5 minutes. I dont think tech is their thing.

Agree about the random log outs. It’s now doing it on my desktop as well.

Also, was it just me who experienced it crash during the 17:35? Thankfully I wasn’t affected but it could have been messy.

Smarkets doesn’t have the infrastructure to support these big meetings and events. Problems ever since they tried to upgrade the site. Maybe they opted against the 0% commission first race like at Cheltenham for this reason

Crashed for the Arsenal vs Leicester game. Great!

Told Ya, these crooks don’t give a shit. It will only be a matter of time before someone loses a packet full at these low grade tosspots. Matt should stop promoting these jokers.

Yeah 2% is better than 5%, but not if you lose a few hundred because their site is unusable.

Still got the issue of bets double counting or not. I had one yesterday showing up everywhere as if I’d laid it twice, logged out and back in again and it was fine.

Although with Betfair 2% commission I’d assume people doing their wdw bets on there

Yeh the betfair site that has been down multiple times in the past few weeks FACT

Their sportsbooks been down a lot,but one noticed the exchange down once really early in the morning for a very short period….. not that I’m on it all day so sure there’s plenty more chance to be down but not seen about it.

Worth keeping money in both, but the liquidity and reliability of Betfair make it worthwhile for a chunk of bets for me

i keep a couple of hundred only in smarkets now, most of my float is now at matchbook instead and the rest in betfair.

Smarkets is too unreliable, i will only use them close to the off or in-play if i absolutely have to.

I gave up at half time trying to use an in-play £25 free bet & punted it on a ‘corners’ market with odds of 23.

It didn’t come in. Damn you Smarkets!!
