The Open Offers

Ppl are starting to get giddy about the open. Couple of posts already.

Betstars are doing their usual bog offer and their free bets for eagles. Both worth while.

Sky are gone TEN places which I think is a great sign. I’m enjoying this little battle that the bookies have going to see who can offer the most places. With the ten places there is marginally value on pretty much all the top ten each way (except Dustin who they have quoted terrible odds for as have most).

The surprise package is Sun here with actual decent odds. 16/1 on Dustin for example where some other good bookies are as low as 12/1. With 7 places too on Sun I think it isn’t bad value for an extra place shot. Sun are best price on the top 20. If you want something on DJ you won’t get any better value that Sun here….

I noticed on the Irish Open that BetMcLean have copied betstars style bog offer so I’ll keep an eye there too.

I can see some good value forming already and as the exchange prices get tighter over the week I’m hoping some more obvious value emerges. I have an eye on sky betstars and sun for the most part. Plus some bookies still doing 1/4 odds (ladbrokes, betstars, and Stan James) which throws up the odd surprise ew arb.

Take the points made on there being better odds at the bookies, I wasn;t too keen on what Sky were offering so went with Freds on the top 6 and underlaying the wins as they tee off and lay odds come down (Spieth and Stenson already done). Will let the places run for now.

Spieth’s odds cut are quite drastic given that its day one but hes one of the top players and has taken an early lead in bad conditions so I am not surprised.

But with the weather improving the likes of Fowler, McIlroy, Johson, Rahm all odds drifting on the exchange.

If I had Spieth on BOG on BetStars, I would be laying him off now before the other big guns tee off.

I think the rest will be quite happy that the lead is only 3 under. I can’t help but thinking this is something that you (Chris) were talking about yesterday about finding value on the exchange.

They are drifiting because they havent teed off yet FoG. Spieth went out to 19 before coming back in sharply after he made a good start. Fowler and Johnson for example, as long as they dont really, really mess up their first few holes should come in too.

Yeah value definitely on the exchange even if its just placing a couple of quid on the to win or to place markets.

Not many eagles today and calling for bad weather tomorrow. I think I’ll skip the betstars eagles tomorrow unless I find some for zero QL.

Hey guys,

Betway’s offer was if you back someone and they are leading at the end of round 1 they will pay out as a winner.

I put £20 on spieth. He’s tied with 2 others. Does anyone know if they’ll pay out the full amount, or will it be split because he’s tied?

Can’t find the t&cs anywhere!
