New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

As always, it’s your call guys, but I’ve been trading with Football INDEX for a few months now and haven’t had any problems. My initial refund was credited within a couple of hours.
When I first tried it out, I was interested in trading on the INDEX, so I used the risk-free period to get a feel for how things worked and purchased shares in a small handful of players.
Their user base is growing by the day and as more traders join the INDEX, the more money is invested and that pushes share prices up. Whichever method you go for, it’s a great time to get involved,
@matchedem’s ban is temporary as he has not broken any forum rules. A short break from the forum will hopefully do everyone some good.
The whole situation disappoints me as we’re all here with a common goal and we need to accept that everyone is different. I don’t have an issue with @matchedem. I agree that the boasting is a little tedious but he also posts some good stuff.
On another note, I’m hoping to make some changes to the forum over the next couple of months that will hopefully improve things.
Just to let you know guys, I’ve just added a trading guide to the main menu above, which has been kindly written by Professional Trader, Caan Berry…

I appreciate it won’t appeal to everyone but some of you guys may find his insight useful.
Those are different markets mate.
England to win both halves means they have to win each period of 45 minutes. So, for example, they win the first half 1-0 and then the second half 2-0, giving a final score of 3-0.
England U21/England U21 in the Half-Time/Full-Time market means they just have to be winning at half-time and full-time. So they could win the first half 1-0 and draw the second half 1-1, giving a final score of 2-1. In this instance, they haven’t won both halves though as the second half was drawn 1-1.
Hope that helps!
You can do this as a risk-free bet. Just place a back bet on the Betfair Exchange and lay it at Smarkets.
Just select the ‘Risk-Free’ setting on the calculator and enter £50.00 as your ‘Cashback’ figure. Don’t forget to change the back commission to 5%.

That’s quite normal with a limited bankroll. It’s worth noting that horse races complete much quicker than football matches.
Another thing to consider is placing your qualifying bets on different horses in the same race or different outcomes on the same football match. Only one horse/team can win the race/match so the amount you need in your Smarkets account will be the outcome with the highest liability.
Say for example, you do 3 different welcome offers and place them on the home team (£50.00 liability), draw (£70.00 liability) and away team (£80.00 liability) for the same football match, you would only need £80.00 in your Smarkets account (not the total of £200.00) as only one of your lay bets can lose.
It’s worth being aware of that as it can make your bankroll go a little bit further.
@matchedem I think it’s time to tone all of this down now mate once and for all. Whilst you’re not breaking any forum rules, your comments are often inflammatory and it’s having a negative impact on the forum.
I’ve addressed this with you privately on occasions, but I feel it’s now necessary to air this publicly given that there is a lot of discontent floating around.
It’s frustrating as you often post some good stuff but that is very much overshadowed by a lot of nonsense.
If this continues I’ll have no choice but to take action, so let’s drop the attitude and get back to helping each other out. That’s what the forum was created for.
Place a back bet on the Betfair Exchange and lay it at Smarkets.
Use the risk-free setting on my calculator and make sure you include the 5% commission for your back bet at Betfair.
The events in Manchester were tragic and I’m sure we’ve all been affected to one extent or another, but this is a matched betting forum and I have no issue with @matchedem or the nature of this thread.
I think it’s a good idea to touch base once a month but I agree with @Fandango… Instead of posting profit figures and it being a competition about who has made the most profit, you guys should be focusing on which areas are proving the most profitable and what’s changed in that particular month.
I think we may have to ban these monthly profit threads… They seem to be doing more harm than good.
I make your figures…
Roma win > +£100.02 – £126.82 + £100.00 (cash bonus) = £73.20
Roma don’t win > – £1,316.00 + £1,380.21 = £64.21A lay stake of £1,416.83 would have given you a guaranteed profit of £72.49 on any outcome.
It’s best to calculate the effective odds you are getting having taken the cash bonus into account. You can then enter your effective odds as your back odds on the calculator.
So…
£1,316.00 * 0.08 = £105.28
£105.28 * 0.95 = £100.01
£100.01 + £100.00 (cash bonus) = £200.01
£1,316.00 + £200.01 = £1,516.01
£1,516.01 / £1,316.00 = 1.151983 (effective odds)Check out the Horse Racing Offers page under the ‘Offers’ tab above guys. They should all be listed there.
Lay each match sequentially at Smarkets guys. I’ve just posted the method on the homepage.
