Betfair Each Way edge

  • So I just noticed this gizmo.

    On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.

    For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.

    This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.

    BUT

    If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.

    Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.

    Anyone use this feature regularly?

    How come betfair are only paying 3 places in the last off at Gowran Park today?

    Betbright says same, best guess is because it’s dropped to 16 runners with reserves coming in so may be a timing issue

    I think it’s one where the reserves won’t run. So only 14 will run?

    Betfair were 3 places even when just one non runner. So 15 horses plus 3 reserves at the time.

    Just be careful of lumping too early, else restrictions will come into play, but nearer time of race can get much more on

    Currently affected my opportunity at the chelsea/spurs double lol

    Will take it easier with the other multiple accounts I have for this

    Just compared a few accounts restrictions

    funny enough one account that still has offers like the itv racing, can’t get anywhere near as much on this edge as an account that can’t receive offers

    neither account ever had any each way betting on lol

    Also another account that cant get offers and has never done any each way betting is restricted as much as an account that has hit a few edge second places lol

    Weird lol, as if there is no patterns whatsoever and gubbings and restrictions before any obvious abuse is plain luck

    All I could say is maybe the account that can bet what it wants I think is the one that will be down, deposits less withdrawals etc

    Seriously restricted here now on the edge. Can do about €3 ew on the favs or €1.50 ew on the outsiders.

    I tried to stay under the radar with small stakes (2-3€). I didn’t miss many races though and covered 3 to 5 horses in each race I did.

    It didn’t work. Probably would have lasted just as long doing 10-20 ew and made 5 times profit.

    I’m a bit disappointed how stingy all bookies are. They say the gubbings and the restrictions etc to protect their recreational customers. But there is nothing more recreational than a small ew stake !

    Looks like only race today is 2.25 at down royal right

    Try much nearer to the race and see what you can get on, restrictions seem to relax much nearer race, all be it then some horses odds have shortened so not doable

    Also this is a lowly bank holiday Monday at down royal not the big Saturday handicaps

    I have always been dubious of betting too early in the day

    Another thing, whether it works or not to look like a mug, smashing a favourite now and then at tight odds is something I do

    Down Royal is the last one left.

    There was opportunity last night in Bath, Beverley and Naas. I got a few there and they are win only and all big arbs (but small stakes).

    Probably right though. I hit these too early. Should wait till close to the off perhaps, but then your missing the advantage of arbs when your bets become win only because of non runners.

    Does anyone know why there is no option to use eachway edge on the 17.50 and 18.50 at ballinrobe today? There is an option to use it on all other meets today apart from the two races where I can take advantage of it

    It’s there now bainsey. Sometimes they don’t add it until closer to the race. Depending on how big the race is.

    Cheers for that Fog, I was panicking that I had some sort of each way edge gub! Had a good weekend hammering it, up £500 since Friday. I feel the stake restrictions coming.

    This seems interesting, I have 3 betfair accounts and 2 are restricted. I’ve only ever done one each way bet before in 13 months of matched betting, it’s all a bit confusing! Is there a simple way of explaining this so I don’t fuck it up lol. I’ll start with small stakes just in case I do.
