Betfair Each Way edge

  • So I just noticed this gizmo.

On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.

For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.

This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.

    BUT

If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.

Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.

    Anyone use this feature regularly?

No value at all though Chris…the odds are 1/5 so the place terms currently on offer r way off

Place lay odds will come in, you know that by now.

Goldream is already arbing at 4.2/4 so not sure what you’re on about.

All this talk of value spoils the fun sometimes.

Unless you are just hoping odds will come in (gambling), then I am with matchedem on this one as I can’t see any of the above mentioned are at all +ev.

Not having a go, but if you are happy taking -ev stuff then that’s fine, but obviously you will be worse off in the long run. If its fun you want rather than value then crack on.

Special one, I turn a profit every week, theres no way I am worse off in the long run. Its ok to take some small losses now and again.

It is only ok to take loses if it is +ev and you are not just hoping for prices to move in your favour or hoping for a n/r.

Out of interest what other ones do you have today.

Special one if u are hoping for non runners then they do come, so actually over a long period if it works for u then this is an ok tactic.

I had 100 quid on the winner in the first matched off than 50p profit, RF gave me another 60 quid profit with no rule 4
